The Carousel Boutique [Open]

Rarity stood in the simulation of The Carousel Boutique, recalling the colours and atmosphere of the place. A hologram of Opalescence was sitting on the table, swishing its tail and looking at Rarity.

"Do you think this gem would do, Opalescence?" She levitated a red gem and the cat blinked. "Or this one?" Rarity asked, levitating a blue one. The feline mewed and stretched.

The unicorn smiled and continued to play-work with the pony outfit she was currently pre-occupied with.

Wait, was this apparition real? Was this an actual crew member?

He took another look at her. Come to think of it, didn't she resemble (very, very loosely) one of the crew members he'd met when he'd first arrived here?

"I... I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, really. Er... is this a store of some kind?"

"Yes, this is The Carousel Boutique. A shop I owned back home. I'm Rarity, what is your name?" She asked, offering a hoof as a polite gesture.

"I see." He gave her hoof a careful shake, not sure how well-balanced a quadruped might be sans a fourth leg for balance.

"I'm Zouichi. Are you a fashion designer of some kind?"

Rarity nodded and showed off the range of pony designs in her boutique. "Yes, I am. Most of my human designs are over at Stormwind Clothiers though."

Well. He had no idea ponies had fashion designs. But then, what ponies were left on his Earth weren't exactly sentient.

"Ah, are you acquaintances with Reinforce, then? She does some good work. I'm glad she's found someone with similar interests." He paused. "So will you be opening a shop in the City as well?"

"I work and live with Rein at Stormwind Clothiers now." Rarity thought over his last question. "I'm not sure if I would, the clothiers has all the resources I need."

He nodded. "Makes sense. So do you have a particular specialty, or are you a jack of all trades?"

Boy, did this place ever look... happy.

"I guess making clothes is my only specialty though I am really good at designing pony dresses."

Opalescence climbed onto the dress Rarity was making and the unicorn levitated the cat away. "Opalescence, no. You have your basket to sleep in."

Zouichi blinked. Psychic unicorns, really? "Ah, well. That's still a pretty useful specialty, I guess, on a ship like this. Um... pony dresses?"

"Cute cat, by the way."

Opalescence mewed, appreciating the compliment and she rubbing up against Zouichi's legs.

"I am learning how to design human outfits at the clothiers. Quite similar to pony clothes making but a little bigger."

Zouichi smiled, bending down to scratch behind the cat's ears. He had a bit of a soft spot for animals. "Hi, there."

"So, um, did any other ponies arrive here with you? Or are you the only one?"

"Three other ponies are here. There's the orange pony Applejack, the pink fun-loving Pinkie Pie and the pegasus-unicorn pony Princess Celestia." Rarity smiled fondly, content that she was not alone and her friends were here.

"What about you? Are you alone?"

"Ah. I... don't think I've met any of them yet, but they sound very colorful. You have a princess?" What did pony princesses even do?

"No, my partner was also brought aboard the ship. But we appear to be the only people from our world so far."

"Yes, we have a princess who rules over the whole kingdom of Equestria. She raises the sun and moon everyday with her sister."

Rarity was getting accustomed to the questions asked and she was eager to share the knowledge of the country to anyone who was curious about it.

"She's powerful enough to change the orbit of the planet?" What the heck kind of world was this?

"Wait, why does she need to do that? Does your planet not rotate quickly enough on its axis?"

[She's like a combination sister or law enforcement partner.]

Rarity tilted her head, puzzled by the word. "Orbit? What is that? All I know is that she uses her magic, flies up into the air and the sun rises as she does so. You can ask her for more information if you're curious."

"Well, planets generally circle around a star of some kind. In Earth's case, that's the sun, and the Earth also rotates on its own axis as it's circling the sun. In fact, sunrise and sunset are actually determined by..."

Zouichi trailed off. Maybe Rarity would just have no idea what he was talking about. Maybe there was no pony Galileo. As far as he knew, though, one individual couldn't be in charge of the continued sunrise-sunset cycle of an entire planet, though. WAS THIS PONY PRINCESS A CHARLATAN RELIGIOUS FIGURE

"...maybe I should ask her. So, what else does she do?"

Rarity could only blink and stare at him, all confused and a little muddled. "She looks after the whole of Equestria. Other than that, I'm not sure."

Hmm. Perhaps this was a topic worthy of further inquiry. He nodded at Rarity politely, then turned to leave.

"I see. Thank you for your time and cooperation."
