The Carousel Boutique [Open]

Rarity stood in the simulation of The Carousel Boutique, recalling the colours and atmosphere of the place. A hologram of Opalescence was sitting on the table, swishing its tail and looking at Rarity.

"Do you think this gem would do, Opalescence?" She levitated a red gem and the cat blinked. "Or this one?" Rarity asked, levitating a blue one. The feline mewed and stretched.

The unicorn smiled and continued to play-work with the pony outfit she was currently pre-occupied with.

"I was thinking of a summer dress (http://www.miraclebabyblog.com/images/girls-silk-habotai.bmp) , do you think you're okay with that?" Rarity said as an image of the dress was sketched rapidly on the paper.

She took a long look at it: actually, this was the kind of thing she bet dad would have loved to see her in. She didn't chose stuff like this too often, and it did show off her scrapes of the past, but it was pretty.

"Yeah, I guess this is pretty good," she said. "Uh, do you do hair too?"

"This is so much cuter than anything I've ever seen back home."

Megan grinned, crouching to pet the cat gently.

"I didn't know ponies wore clothes." she told Rarity, an earnest curiosity in her tone. "Is it complicated to make pony-dresses?"

Hank had not had a chance to see the sensoriums quite yet, being busy studying real things, but for now he wanted to see just how convincing these things could be. Not exactly sure what to do, Hank enters one. he looks around to see what looks like a fashion studio.

"Well this was unexpected."

Wait, was this apparition real? Was this an actual crew member?

He took another look at her. Come to think of it, didn't she resemble (very, very loosely) one of the crew members he'd met when he'd first arrived here?

"I... I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, really. Er... is this a store of some kind?"

"I had cats back at home," he said, petting Opalescence gently. "I've always liked them. "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you're from the same place as Applejack. Call it a hunch."

"Right, that prom thing. It's something like the Gala, right?" Whatever it was, Applejack wanted no part of it. She smiled down at Opal, gently offering a hoof to the kitten.

"Have you got a dress for yourself in that head of yours?"

Opal purred and nuzzled Megan's hand, licking it a bit.

"We usually do not wear clothes but we don them for special occasions." Rarity continued to adjust the gems on the dress. "It is not complicated as I've been a pony all my life. Human designs were a little difficult to comprehend but I'm getting the hang of it."

Rarity nodded. "Yes, Applejack is my friend. Any friend of Applejack's would be my friend."

Opal sat down and began to groom herself. "How many cats did you have?"

Opal nuzzled and brushed against Applejack's hoof while Rarity added the final touch to the dress meant for a pegasus. "Of course I have a dress in mind. I even came up with designs for the rest even if they're not here..."

"Yes, this is The Carousel Boutique. A shop I owned back home. I'm Rarity, what is your name?" She asked, offering a hoof as a polite gesture.

Rarity looked over at the blonde man. "What is unexpected, good sir?"

Rarity extended a hoof to touch the girl's hair, examining the texture and length, she remembered a picture of human hairstyles in the screens Rein showed her and she began to braid Mindy's hair till it looked like this (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_EVCkW8RlBok/S4hSwoZ_Q0I/AAAAAAAABsI/qCdJyM_zHbE/s1600-h/P1070098.JPG).

"I'd like to think she'd consider me at least something of a friend," he said as he straightened up, again slowly so as not to startle. "But I wouldn't speak for her, though at the very least I apparently have the interesting and probably unprecedented challenge of figuring out how to teach her martial arts." To judge by how pleased he sounded, it was a challenge he more than welcomed.

"Two. Chibi Kami-sama, and Sephy. I've had them both for years now."

And they were probably atoms at best, at the moment. That grim thought threw him off his stride for a moment.

"Martial arts? What is that?" Rarity tilted her head, a little curious. She saw him breaking stride and looked a little sad. "I'm sure they're in the pods too."

"Oh, I just didn't realize that someone was already here." Hank says before he spots Rarity. He's a little surprised by there being a talking unicorn, but at this point there's little that could shock him.

"You're not a part of the simulation, are you?"

"I see." He gave her hoof a careful shake, not sure how well-balanced a quadruped might be sans a fourth leg for balance.

"I'm Zouichi. Are you a fashion designer of some kind?"

Applejack couldn't help but miss Winona as she played with Rarity's cat. Was her little doggie out there somewhere? She'd better be.

"Just like always," Applejack sighed, peeking around the boutique for hints of sketches or fabrics. "So you were planning on going?"

He wasn't gonna count on it, though he appreciated her efforts to cheer him up. "Martial arts is... complicated to describe, actually. What most people think of when they think of it is a way to fight without a weapon. It's a lot more complicated, and simple, at the same time, but it IS good for fighting."

Rarity made a face at the mention of fighting. She was a proper lady and she would not resort to brutish ways. However, everyone was different and she had to respect what they do. "Ah. I suppose I would not be surprised that she would want to learn that. Her legs are really strong from bucking apple trees after all."

She then showed him her work. "I may not be a fighter but I love to design and make clothes. Do you need one for the space prom?"

Rarity nodded. "Definitely, why would I miss out building relations with others? What about you? Would you be serving any of your delicious apple treats?"

She flipped through a couple of sketches she had in mind for Applejack. "I would like to make an outfit for you."

She shook her head. "I am very real. The shop and the cat are simulations, I'm afraid."

Rarity walked up to him gracefully and offered a hoof. "I am Rarity. Who might you be?"

Rarity nodded and showed off the range of pony designs in her boutique. "Yes, I am. Most of my human designs are over at Stormwind Clothiers though."

Well. He had no idea ponies had fashion designs. But then, what ponies were left on his Earth weren't exactly sentient.

"Ah, are you acquaintances with Reinforce, then? She does some good work. I'm glad she's found someone with similar interests." He paused. "So will you be opening a shop in the City as well?"

"Oh, I'm Dr. Hank Pym." Hank says as he gently shakes Rarity's hoof. "This is my first time in one of these sensoriums. What is this shop?"
