"Since we could teleport," Billy answered readily, an almost wistful longing in his voice. That would have made things so much simpler. But they were getting there eventually, passing buildings of all shapes and sizes. Castles, schoolhouses, a treehouse somewhere, a pyramid, a business district...it was all a mishmash of things.
"Probably because they were collected from the same universe," he guessed. "It was easier just to place them both in the same vacant spot." As they passed other things, he pointed them out.
"That's the bathhouse I designed, you'll be able to use real water there---as compared to the sonic showers in the crew quarters that use sonic waves to gravitate dirt away from the body. One of my friends lives in that castle, you can sometimes see him as a stone gargoyle along the top. I live in a district a moderate distance away from here, but I can take you to see it when we're done."
