A human child would have reached for his hand for reassurance. But Kali was not a human child, and Bight was not her father. There were no reassuring wings to duck beneath while she sorted herself out.

Instead she remained silent, thinking of everything she had heard of dragons, of metallics. Knew how much of a threat they were to any Draconian, and how much more so for a lone Draconian child?

Her claws brushed carefully against the strap holding her bow against her back. Unstrung, she would be helpless.

"How did you meet him?" The thought of a dragon talking to a human was a strange one, it was likely rude to ask further, but she was curious. Could this human protect her from the dragon, if he wished to? Would the dragon listen? "Thank you, Lord Bight." She sounded uncertain, and not at all like she believed him.
