"Considering when they get started, most people can't do clap push-ups at all, you're ahead of any kind of average. The fact that you need to build up some power in your arms and chest to do one of the harder drills out there isn't a disappointment - its to be expected. The only thing I think you need is lots, and lots and lots of push ups, both army style and clap, and you show signs of being professional enough to judge for yourself if you're doing them right or not. Relax... take a couple deep breaths - and at this drill, and before the next time, just do push ups and crunches til you start feeling nauseous... then get up, stretch out, get some water... then get back on the floor and do some more. Do that, and you'll be just fine. This ain't a race, and if I can help with training, I'm around."
