While being told that they were doing well and had a good work ethic would be enough to make most people feel pretty good about themselves, Jamie was not 'most people,' and therefore continued to look intensely concerned about potential failure.

He also had a feeling Chase was going to be deeply disappointed with Jamie's capacity for badassery, but he said nothing to this effect, instead merely promising, "I'll give it my best shot. I can free up some time somewhere and come do extra training sessions if you think I need them."
