No need to be alone anymore. [Open]
Cassie lay back on one of the beds in medbay. She tried holding up her left hand so she could look at it but the arm wouldn't rise far enough. The shoulder was practically welded to her body. Cringing, she sat up.
Her hand looked exactly the same as it did yesterday. All the fingers were gone unless you counted the mangled stubs as fingers. The entire hand itself was a mass of scar tissue. Completely useless.
They said that they could fix it. Clone new fingers and reattach them, then replace the scar tissue so she could actually move her arm. It was something she never thought of while the Helmacrons held her hostage. And she didn't know why but the thought of the surgery frightened her. Being unconscious, unaware, helpless...
She wished her dad was here but he was gone- again.
But not dead. He was alive.
"Thank you for letting me see him." She mumbled quietly.

He'd been there to visit Zuko a few times after sorting out the whole mess with Kaya, Azula attacking them, Sister Nima appearing, Toph disappearing.
There was so much out of their control, but this wasn't. This was a chance to maybe make someone feel better and helping people feel better was something he'd never get tired of doing.
"I know you don't really know me, but you look like you need one. It's just I can't tell if it'd hurt you or not."

"You can hug. Just try to avoid the left side. Everything's healed but the skin is really tight."

He knocked on the door frame out of politeness, studying the girl lying on the bed. He'd seen some horrific injuries in the past, so seeing her's didn't really faze him much.

"I'm sorry you've been through so much pain."
He knew what it was like, even if he bore less scars. He still had plenty to show off, though. Aang leaned back and held up his burn-scarred arm.
"They do really good work here though. I'm pretty sure the Daligig were the ones that fixed this up, even though I can't remember it. With what they have here in the Medbay."
The skin was somewhat puckered with scar tissue, but not awful. He had full mobility, and had even gotten the tattoos redone over it.
"It wouldn't even be this bad if it was fire, but they said it was from acid and went really, really deep, so when they fix yours up, it'll probably be even better."

Still, they had kept her alive."Everyone's been great."no subject
He should have known from that, that there was more than what they were telling him.
He held up his other arm. There was a long scar on the underside of it. "This one's from the Nightmare King, though."
From when he was stuck in that burning hot sarcophagus that Zuko burned his hands on even worse to free him from.
"And this one's from when Grif shot me," he stood up again, and pulled his robes away from his stomach, and then turned around to do the same with his back, to show off a wicked looking one there, that almost looked like his back had been ripped open.
"And this is from where I got hit by lightning."
Aang plopped back down again.
"Each one tells a story, even if I can't remember the story for the one," Aang said. "I know it sounds strange to hear, but I like yours. I know they're painful, but when they're fixed so they don't hurt anymore, they're going to tell the story of how you saved people. I wouldn't have even said anything about them, but that's what I think when I see you, and I wanted you to know I think you're really brave."

"Have we even met? I just heard about you."
Why would it mean a lot from--oh! Oh, right.
"Oh yeah, you probably heard about the Nightmare King stuff."
Oblivious.
"Anyway, I just wanted you to know if you need anything, let me know, okay? My gir--uh, my friend Kaya, who...I used to think was my girlfriend but Stacy did something really bad to our memories--she's a Waterbender, and she could probably help with healing. If she isn't already helping. It could help to add that on to what the Medbay technology does."

"Wait what? What? Stacy did something to your memories? Just how much have we found out while I was gone?"

"She made us think a girl named Kaya was Katara. She wasn't. She made her think she was Katara, too. She made her think she was an entirely different person."

She was Stacy.

"That's not good." Cassie leaned back a little. "But not something I want to think about- at least not right now. We're all still alive." Except Kawalsky. And the person in the pods, Big Zero, and the Helmacrons. Other than that... "That's what matters."
no subject
"Mostly, I just wanted to tell you that I'm glad you are," he said.
Then, after a second of thought, he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, the sort of kiss someone might give to their little sister.
"Get better, okay?"
no subject
"Thanks, I will. Feel free to drop by any time. I won't be going anywhere for a bit."
no subject
"Easy. Think you got a break from training for mmm... a while," After Pinky was settled with Cassie, she sat down in a chair nearby.
"They say how long you need to stay here?"
no subject
"At least a few weeks after the surgery." Probably longer but she'd fight that tooth and nail.
