Yuna quickened her pace just a little, wanting to get out of this cavern as quickly as possible. Clothing had been promised ahead, right?

"I see," she answered, though she really did not. There was so much that 'time lord' could mean, but from the look on his face, she knew to be content with 'ability to perceive time' for now.

"Summoners journey to give hope to the people. Spira, our world, is terrorized by a large beast known as Sin. It attacks large settlements of people, and we never know whether the next attack will kill us. It's so powerful that any weapons we build can't defeat it." They'd tried, she remembered Operation Mi'ihen, but human machina alone could not win.

"That's where summoners are needed. The only known way to defeat Sin is for a summoner to complete a pilgrimage. We travel across the land, praying at temples to receive summoned creatures called aeons. At the end of the road is Zanarkand, the lost city where we obtain the Final Aeon---the one beast with the power to destroy Sin. After that, Spira enters a Calm period. It's a wonderful, happy time, when people can travel freely and sleep at night without worrying whether they'll wake up the next morning."

There was a sad and nostalgic smile on her face then. All those happy people...she worried now that they'd never find that peace if she couldn't get back.
