Separate from all the other newly released crew, in Godhead Row, the Queen of Blades awoke. Before she was even aware of her surroundings she lashed out, striking the air with the talons that were no longer there. Flexing the wings she no longer had. But her fingernails slashed through no flesh. Her wings cracked open no bones and that was when her thoughts caught up to reality.

She wasn’t the Queen of Blades anymore. She wasn’t Ghost 24601 either. She was Sarah Kerrigan.

Sarah Kerrigan.

She stared at her hands, and then looked down at the rest of her body. All human, all except for the long, segmented stalks where her hair should be.

Jimmy.

For a brief moment she wondered where he was. The last she remembered she had been in his arms. She had been… safe, or at least as safe as she could ever be. And now he was gone and she was-

Oh.

She remembered now, vaguely. The tests, the experiments. They wanted to turn her into a weapon. They hadn’t realized they were far too late for that.

She shuddered and buried those memories, at least for the moment.

“Who did this to me?” She didn’t know her name but she could sense the ship’s presence all around her and its connection to the others. “Where are they?” So she could deal with them.

Where’s Jimmy? She wanted to ask.

And another part of her, a part that terrified her, wanted to ask: Where are my children? Where are the zerg?

She listened to Stacy speak and a sense of calm flowed through her, enough to mask the anger she felt at someone manipulating her emotions.

||You have been Chosen to accomplish a Great Purpose. You have been Chosen to help fight the Ohm, a race of insectoid beings that are the destroyers of worlds.||

||You have been Chosen as champions of life, as protectors of the worlds and peoples that are left. The others are waiting for you. They will explain everything.||

Sarah laughed. She laughed so hard she fell onto her knees- or perhaps that was because of the tears rolling down her face. She pressed a hand to her face and her whole body shook.

After several moments she stood and there was no sign that she had ever cried. Her lips were set into a hard line and her eyes were unreadable. “Where are these ‘champions?’ I want to meet the people who experimented on me.” Not waiting for a response, although certainly eager to hear one, Kerrigan walked through the now open door and into Godhead row.
