And I will smite my enemiiiiieeeeees! [Closed]
At last, progress on one front; the wizard had finally arranged for that sword-forging that he'd promised Ronnae what seemed like lifetimes ago.
He'd gone to the usual efforts of tidying up the place: cleaning out the area around the teleport circle, scrubbing free the caked-on layers of ash and grit from many an explosion, and laboriously fumigated the last lingering hints of beer-waterfall out of the cracks of his furniture. Now, having called the orc girl, he simply folded his forelegs in front of him and lounged on a rug near his comfortable furniture, reading from a book that floated in midair.
(No. He hadn't bothered to dispel the magic that had him in a draconic form at the moment. Why should he?)

She calmed down quick enough to continue. "I don't mind doing whatever is needed of me to do the task. I had already come to terms a long time ago that this was something that needed to be done and that I had the honor to take on this burden, with or without a chance at easing it in the future." She kept her gaze down, her young features shadowed by a lot of pain in her short life.

From the small bag she had brought with her, Daja retrieved 5 small ornamental figures of metal - all steel, and all already imbued with Daja's magic. Fittingly, these were all enchanted with protection spells - she kept them around her home and forge, to ward off intruders, ill will, and bring health and long life. But for toda, they would serve as an adequate test.

He pondered the figures for a moment, then sighed. "Ah well. I suppose I should have known I needed to dispel this, but I HAD hoped." He spoke a few words and made a slashing gesture with one claw -- then abruptly stood before the two women an elf once more.

She left the figurines on a small, unmagicked table, and took a step back. "These all contain protection spells - for health and vitality, for long life, for warding against ill will, for warding against intruders, and for calm and tranquility," she said, pointing to each in turn.

He examined the statues quickly with his own magical senses, intrigued. Already an example. "Well then, let me see..."
He spoke a few words and made a series of complicated gestures as he reached out to touch one of the statues. The moment he made contact with a fingertip, the statue abruptly shrunk to a sixteenth of its previous size, falling like a limp cloth to the table's surface.
"That didn't seem to affect the enchantments placed upon it," he said after a moment of scrutiny.

Daja watched carefully as Aibghalien shrunk the statue, keeping a close eye on the flickers of magic that she could see. The statue had already glimmered to her sight, but now the light brightened as Aibghalien's magic joined hers. She reached out to touch the statue with her fingers, sending her magic into it to inspect the spells more closely.
"Yes, my magic is completely intact," she confirmed. "Perhaps to be certain, we should try some of the specific spells you wish to use?"

He lifted a finger, twirled it three times, spoke an invocation, then touched another statue. No sooner had he done so than the statue began to glow with a warm, pure light -- as if sunlight itself had been refined to the essence of light itself.

She turned to Ronnae. "Are they metals?" she asked, curious. A new and unknown metal...that was always interesting.

After her considerable payment from Zetta, storage had become an issue for Daja. Oh, she had constructed a safe for the gold and silver, of course - but her cottage and forge was becoming increasingly filled with swords, armour, and other scrap metals.

Back to Daja; he patted the bag as he answered. "This is a small one -- thirty cubic feet or so, and two hundred fifty pounds maximum weight. There are other sizes, though; the largest holds six times as much weight in two hundred and fifty cubic feet of space. It weights a lot more, though."
