Hidey-hole [Open]
So, the idiots on the ship had decided to elect people who wanted to make nice with the Ohm. Oh, and kill undead and demons. Yeah, bloody fantastic, as far as Karis was concerned. That was why she was scoping out the city. The zombie skulked from corner to corner, eying various buildings. There had to be somewhere down here where she could hole up if the shit really hit the fan. She paused at an intersection. The whole place was a bit creepy - just miles and miles of empty buildings.
Still, if there was something down here worth her time, she was going to find it. Better then getting killed when the crew finally got around to turning on her.
Damn, but she hated breathers.

Hope you don't mind? :o
Still, despite the picture perfect amount of hidey holes here, he didn't find anything lurking in the dark. So far. It was almost disappointing.
Really, what kind of respectably spooky place didn't have things in there to go "boo!" at the right times? Especially with so many dark alleys and empty buildings? The Doctor stopped creeping and went back to normal walking, his shoes scuffing on the street. He had no idea maybe he was quite a bit wrong, that there was a dark and spooky young lady just around the corner. Rounding it, he didn't miss a beat as he caught the shadow of what looked like a human.
"Ah, hello! Thought I'd have look around," the Doctor raised his hand in greeting. "The Doctor. Lovely place, isn't it?"
Not in the least!
"...Karis Needleteeth. And yeah. Yeah, I guess it is. Biggest city I've ever seen."
She might sound a bit sour, but that's because she's perpetually in a bad mood.
:3
The Doctor had come close enough to make out the glow. Between that and the teeth, he'd make an educated guess and guess that his new friend here wasn't a human. Still, nothing wrong with that. He had plenty of non-human friends, acquaintances, enemies and "proper authorities" shaking their fingers at his "rather alarming disregard of the rules", as he heard it put.
This one, he hoped, would fit in the friend category because he didn't really have the time for a good, old fashioned arch enemy on this ship.
"This? Right, city ship. Very impressive. Partial to those flesh couches myself." The Doctor smoothly skated over her sour mood, all friendly smiles. Don't worry, he had a habit of doing that. And roping unsuspecting lifeforms into things, possibly of the high adventure, run for your life variety. "Still, could use some work. These hidey holes, look!"
The Doctor walked past Karis. Those, by the way, were impressive teeth. Lived up to the name! The looking dead thing was...alarming, considering creatures such as the Geth, but he was trying to be fair. Fair as in waiting to see if she was the good sort or the bad sort. If she tried to take a chunk out of him, well, he'd have his answer. The Doctor crouched down at a hidey hole, a perfect one for the ankle spider (cousin of the face spider).
"See? Nothing grabbing my arm. Odd, isn't it?" The Doctor turned toward Karis, as if he thought her toothy opinion was important.
Oh, the Doctor.
Well, you could, but that's because she was also something of a sadistic killing machine.
"What makes that so odd? Don't normally get shit grabbing you in cities. That's reserved for dungeon-crawling and ruin-hopping. Done enough of that in my day, lemme tell you. Had it up to here with bloody spiders jumping out of nowhere and trying to eat my damn face off," Karis groused in reply. "I mean, you think there should be more creepy-crawlies hanging around out here?"
Re: Oh, the Doctor.
The Doctor remained crouched at the hidey hole with his arm stuck to its elbow for another moment, glancing up at his grump of an undead...person. Person thing. He wasn't entirely sure what she was, aside from humanoid, dead-ish (and not ex-dead like Jamie McCrimmon), and shouldering that halberd like she knew how to use it. The Doctor pulled his arm out from the hole, rolling his sleeve back down.
"Really? Maybe you just haven't been near the right hidey holes. Breeding grounds, really. Big old pests. They like a decent ankle." The Doctor weaved to his feet suddenly, facing Karis when she states the obvious. "I did just say that, keep up."
He didn't mean it maliciously, instead in one of those moods where something was interesting and not adding up and maybe he thought it should be perfectly obvious when it...wasn't in realitty.

"Why? Ship probably sterilizes everything that comes through here in order to make sure we don't get our faces eaten off by anything."
Well, she was reasonably sure. Better than having to deal with it herself, anyway.

Still, at least Karis here was forward thinking. Acid was always something to think about or at least keep in mind. After all, acid pits weren't as rare as one would think. The Doctor frowned at his dead-like friend here. Sunny personality, this one! Always so caught up in acid dissolving or faces getting eaten off (that one seemed to be a personal favorite of Karis, what with her mentioning it twice now). The Doctor reached up, scratching the side of his chin. He didn't much care for his face getting eaten off, no offense to Karis.
"And she could very well have a different idea of who or what is expendable," the Doctor pointed out. "But that's why I'm down here. You can learn all sorts of thing seeing what she saved from the Ohm."
The Doctor turned on the spot. All right, so he couldn't quite work out what Stacy thought was so valuable with these empty buildings.

"Why would she save a bunch of empty buildings for no reason? Coulda used this pace for more people. Or war machines. Or something useful."
One track mind, that Karis. She didn't particularly mind the Doctor too much, but he was still a breather as far as she was concerned.

At a guess. He couldn't exactly say without more hard evidence. It's not often he's on a ship he has not a single clue about its make or its history (aside from what he's been told). It's odd not probably being there when it was commissioned.

Hey, maybe there were parts of the Undercity down here. She'd have to look. Plus, that'd be perfect for her. Not like anyone else would care about it. She shrugged, plate armor clanking.
"...don't think we're supposed to be the crew. From what I hear, original crew screwed with something they shouldn't have and got themselves annihilated. We're just being drafted to replace 'em. Or something like that. Not that I trust this damn ship or the damn aliens that brought us here. Uther's balls, what'd they expect me to do? Salute and go off without a second thought?"

The Doctor frowned. "I think what they wanted you to do was survive (you know what I mean). But I'm not them and I haven't managed to talk directly to Stacy, so it's all conjecture at this point."
Some of it made him wonder how much of this was planned, or how much of it was made up on the spot. Not that he was against a little -- or a lot -- of improvisation but it would help to know just how prepared the Daligig were against the Ohm. Or if they had a contingency plan for all those planets already destroyed. The Doctor was lost in thought, not looking quite as cheerful as he was earlier.

Yeah, there she goes again. Being paranoid. She grumps and leans on her halberd.
"I don't like it at all. Why haven't they let Lady Windrunner outta the pods? Or even Thrall? Some of the most powerful people on Azeroth aren't here and we're supposed to believe we're the saviors of the universe? Bah."
