(no subject)

After sampling what passed for food around here--Stacy really needed to get her hands on some cayenne pepper, maybe a little garlic, some parsley, oregano and bay leaves---Gambit found himself wandering around the city by himself.  After making the rounds, he eventually stumbled upon the statuary, a large hall full of a various statues from a multitude of different worlds, times, and realities.  Some of the events or people being commemorated, he recognized.  Others, he did not.  But, with nothing better to do, Remy wandered into the hall and began to look over the statues.

He was more than half-way through his little tour when he finally noticed something strange at the base of one of the statues.  It was, what appeared to be, a switch.  Furrowing his brow, he knelt down in front of the statue and eyed the device for a few moments.  Looking back over the statues he'd already passed, he realized that they all had identical switches on them.  Feeling rather adventurous--much like the proverbial cat that got killed by its equally proverbial curiosity--Remy flicked it.

...nothing.

"Now dat's silly," he thought aloud to himself.

"There is much here that does not make sense. I thought perhaps it may have been I am not familiar with things like this," Pirogoeth said. She had been exploring this place as well. After all, there was much she didn't understand and that made her uneasy. At least seeing what it was could lead to her learning more about it.

The statues had been particularly interesting. So many different people and things that she would usually call monsters were here. She had been making her way from the back when she had overheard Gambit just the next row over. Since she was also looking for information on people's capture, it seemed a good opportunity to start a conversation.

"I will admit, most of my surprise was the fact a switch so small could be expected to do something. They even felt fragile," Pirogoeth commented, ignoring the petite comment. After having so many people point it out in a ruder way she was small, it didn't bug her really.

"Are they all broken?" Wyn asks, poking her head through a gap between statues. "I tried a couple, but nothing happened." Not that she minded looking at the statues by themselves, even if she didn't recognize most of what was depicted, but... she wanted something to happen when a switch flicked on.

"If it were magic, I would easily believe it," Pirogoeth admitted. After all, she herself was small, and knew what her appearance did for her advantage in battle. "But there is none. To think merely a device could do something with so small a trigger...it is beyond what I know."

"What damage can such a small button do?" Pirogoeth asked, generally curious. What could such a switch do. She leaned to study a button, pressing it. Just like all the others, this one did nothing either.

She looked over at Gambit before grabbing his forearm. It was more customary to shake like that for her, after all. "I am Pirogoeth."

"'Go boom?'" Pirogoeth said questioningly. "How does a small switch cause an explosion?"

"A bomb activated by a switch? Hmm, that is an idea that could be quite interesting," Pirogoeth commented, following Gambit. "But...if they could be attached to a simple switch, why are thou pressing them all?"

"If thou are blast into smithereens, not even I can heal thee," Pirogoeth said, on high alert for any change in the feeling of fire in the area in case something DID explode.

This whole place was seriously starting to mess with her head. She turned another corner, and blinked at the statues that were in front of her. Well this was at least better than some of the other places, she could have stumbled into. She moved silently among the statues, eying each one for a second before moving on. As she walked she could see someone further down examining one of the statues.

She moved closer and just caught his statement to himself. Talking to ones self was never a good sign. She was about to say that out loud when she noticed what the guy was looking at. A switch. A mysterious switch, on a living space ship. Oh yeah, this was a good idea.

"You know, where I'm from, people normally don't flip switches if they don't know what they do."

"Thou would be surprised how many people I have seen turned to crispy cinders moments after saying that," Pirogoeth commented. Of course, those were all her enemies, but a bomb could be quite fast too.

"That'd make things way to easy on us. And by the looks of everything else around here, I'm sure 'easy' isn't in Stacy's data banks. Or whatever she has for a brain." She gave a small smile before glancing back at the switch.

"I guess in a way you got a point. But I'd still like to have an idea what something does, before I go and flip it."

She didn't really know if she wanted to find out, but he was right. There didn't seem to be anything better to do. "Well you know, I was thinking of getting myself lost again. But this might prove to be an educational experience, that I just can't pass up."

"Some were fast. I was simply faster. Sometimes it was Largo's tendency to destroy anything he touches was faster as well," Pirogoeth commented.
