[Bendytimed to before ageing awesomeness.] Another Date [Closed]
Alex held his hand up to his head, making pained noises and chanting, "Ah! Ah! Ah! C-cold!" Even though he was wincing in pain, he was smiling. Ice-cream. Just as he remembered it. So cold it could make your head hurt, and so sweet that they ought to check that you had dental insurance before you bought it. At least, his was that sweet.
He had re-created Central Park for Luna, and they were sitting on a bench near the horse and buggies, having just gotten ice-cream by flagging down the truck before it headed further down the road for the park's vehicle entrance.
Birthday Cake wasn't a flavour ice-cream trucks normally had, but this was his sensorium projection, so this truck had a particularly large selection of flavours. Of course he would have his personal favourite among them.
And what would a day at the park be without someone to share it with? That was why he had invited Luna with him, saying that he had in idea for some place they could go for a date in the sensoriums.
He smiled at her through his brain-freeze and laughed, just happy that he was getting a chance to be with her, ice-cream in central park or not.

She smiles at the leaves above her, head tipping back further to follow the hopping, chirping path of a finch down a branch.
"I have so missed trees," she says, watching the bird twitter around upside down, her head is that far back, resting on the back of the bench. "And wildlife. And sweet things. I wish they had pudding as well as ice cream."
no subject
He stood up when she mentioned pudding, going a little red. There was no way that she could have suspected that he was going to take her to the place with the best pudding in the city after dinner, right? He smiled, putting out the hand that wasn't holding ice-cream for Luna to take. "I know! Let's take a carriage ride while we're finishing our ice-cream!"
He had never taken one before- they were way too expensive- but this was the sensoriums. He didn't have to pay for anything here, and even if he did, he would always have the money.

She does perk up at the mention of carriages, turning around in her seat to blink at him, eyes moving from his smiling face to his outstretched hand.
"Do they have thestrals?" she asks, head tilting. After a moment, she tucks her wand back behind her ear and takes his hand, licking at her ice cream. "I miss thestrals, too. They're wonderful creatures, really. Terribly misunderstood, but wonderful."

He smiled at her a bit more, though with a bit of nervousness, "I r-read about them, in the b-books about your world. I wouldn' mind seeing what they r-really looked like." Words on paper could only give you so much.
no subject
"It wouldn't really be the same thing as the school carriages," she says thoughtfully, obliging his tug and walking closer to him, her hair brushing against his arm. "Though I suppose if you want to see them..."
She trails off, 'hmm'ing quietly.
"Did you really read those books? It's so strange, having books about the life of one of your friends so widely read and believed to be fiction. They're alarmingly accurate, though." A pause. "I can't say I agree with the author's characterization of Bellatrix Lestrange. She's much worse than she sounds in the books."
no subject
Alex didn't actually think much on the being able to see them. In his town, when you saw someone getting shot, you turn away, put your hands deep in your pockets, and watch out of the corner of you eye, just to make sure that they didn't decide you were next. It didn't happen too often, but enough that you knew what to do.
"Is it r-really possible ta be worse than Bellatrix was portrayed though?"
no subject
"It's both flattering and creepy, but I'm sure Ginny would advise me to decide firmly on one of the two, so I think I'll choose to focus on the amount of effort you put into understanding my past. Not many people would do that." She bites off a bit of her ice cream cone, her shoulder brushing against his softly.
And then she falls quiet, staring at the sky as she thinks back on her personal acquaintance with the lunatic Lestrange. After a long span of silence, she says, "The author left out the time I spent with Bellatrix, so yes, it's quite possible."

As her shoulder brushed against his, a chill went down his spine, and he jumped a bit. He then let out a sigh and laughed a bit nervously, letting his arm continue to bush against hers.
He licked off all the dripping bits of ice-cream, but stopped as Luna mentioned Bellatrix again. He frowned, and twined his fingers around hers, gently squeezing her hand. He looked to her, a little red from the touch, but he was frowning. There was nothing he could think to say, but that he understood that some things couldn't be explained in words, and some how it seemed to make more sense to not say that.

"People don't give you a chance because you have a negative connotation, when really, the people who deal with dark things unwillingly or unknowingly are the nicest people."
She looks up at him, looking thoughtful.
"It's alright," she says, squeezing his hand back. "I was just commenting, and what's in the past can't hurt me."
no subject
"So, let's ride in thestral-drawn carriages!" He smiled wider and walked forward with a bit more of a bounce to his step, "They're right around the corner here!"
no subject
The blonde smiles quietly, making a slow beeline for the closest of the thestrals, head tilting up as she approaches.
"Hello," she says, slowing even further in her steps until she is standing quite still just in front of one of the animals. It is very much taller than she is, but she doesn't seem bothered by its comparative size--she simply lifts a hand, palm towards the thestral, and waits for it to butt its nose into her hand before stroking it gently.

They were certainly a sight to see- even more impressive than he had imagined them, and more eerie. But compared to some of the shadows he'd seen, they didn't seem too bad.
He mimicked Luna, offering his outstretched palm to the thestral. The creature sniffed at him and did the same as it's companion. He slowly ran his hand along it's snout, still a little cautious.
