Meet N' Greet
Part of the crew might be gone, but life on the ship goes on. In fact, new people have woken up and, eventually, they've been spat out into the mess hall.
Maybe it's better to introduce them to some of the worst aspects of ship life first, right?
Anyway, the word is out that there's new people, and someone should probably go say hello. Before the n00bs mistake the glop for crew.

Sure he'd heard of the Captain trying various things in the kitchens on the ship, but that was Kirk. He was a strange man but a good leader- Pavel could put up with his little personality quirks.
At the last statement about what the food looked to be made of, Chekov couldn't help but laugh a little. "Jello mixed vith glue? I... can see zhat." Offering her his hand, the youth tried not to blush. "I am Ensign Pavel Chekov, zhough you can call Chekov if you vish."

"Wyn Callahan. Nice to meet you, Chekov!" Wyn says, taking the offered hand and smiling. His name sounded familiar, but she
was always more of a Star Wars girlcouldn't quite place it.no subject
If she didn't know what a Klingon was then either she lived under a rock or was from some other world. Most wouldn't have even thought about that but with the past few months? It was very possible. "It is wery nice to meet you, Vyn."

"Do you mix up your v's and w's often?" Wyn asks, trying very hard not to twitch. "And seriously, if it'd be easier you can call me Gwydion." She hates that name with a fiery burning passion, but she's not sure being called 'Vyn' is much better. "Or maybe if you try to say it 'Vyn' and then it'll come out 'Wyn'."

"It is zee year 2258. You, ah, are not from zhen, da?"

Aw, now Wyn feels bad. "Um. No, no, it's okay, you can just say it how you were. Your English is much better than mine was when I'd been learning for three years." She picked it up fairly quickly after that, though. Being teased by vindictive English kids is a good motivator, it turns out.

When she mentioned it was okay he shook his head waving a hand in the air trying to dismiss it. "нет, нет- I vill try to say it correct zhough it may take a vhile."

Sulu still chuckled every time he had to make an announcement from the bridge and it urked him.

Studying Wyn carefully he cracked a wry smile the color finally bubbling to his cheeks. "You do not seemed as.. ah..vhat is the vord. Disturbed? By zee ship unlike some of zee others here."
no subject
"Panicking won't help, though, and I've never been in space before, so that's kind of exciting." she continues, smiling. She's always been one of those people who looks on the bright side, and being in space is a pretty big bright side.

"Vell.. it could be much vorse, yes? I do no zhink zhat ve are in zee hands of Romulans or Klingons vhich is good. Ah.. zhough if zhey are of a race zhat zee Federation has not contacted yet.." With a roll of his shoulders he tried to ignore the living suit that was given to him in placement of his usual uniform. "Ve have encountered alternate realities vhere I am from. As strange as zhis place is.. it does rank up zhere."
Wyn seemed to have quite a level head upon her shoulders which was good. To get out of a situation like this it required someone with senses like that. Even his own training was being slightly strained by the sudden being somewhere else other than Federation space. "I am sure zhat someone vill have answers soon."

TrekkieTrekker Star Trek fan, but she's definitely heard of Klingons. "Wait, is this more weird or less weird than the alternate universes?" she asks finally. "Was it one of the ones where alternate-you is evil and has a goatee?""Sure, it could be worse. My friends could be here." Wyn says, resting her chin in one hand. "Oh God, that came out wrong. I meant it as in I don't want them to be trapped on a flying meat-bucket like I am, not that they'd make things worse. ... well, Ryan would make things worse."
"I hope we get more helpful answers, anyway. Stacy answered some of my questions, but they were things like 'you are here' and 'you have been Chosen' and I could practically hear the capital C on Chosen." Wyn says hopefully.

At the mention of her friends not being here, then how it was good, then was quickly corrected, Chekov chuckled. "Ah.. I understand. Zhat is like vith my Kaptin. He is.. a good man. Brash, zhough. Unpredictable. Commander Spock, I zhink, does not like him much still." Then with a pause the navigator grined. "Vhat is zee vord to describe him... ah. I vill zhink of it later."
Processing her words compared to his own experience with the AI of the ship caused Pavel to frown. "She seemed quite closed minded, yes. Clipped answers. Wery Wulcan." Carefully he leaned forward. "If I could find a computer, I could see if I could access any starmaps she may have. See vhere ve are."

"Does your Captain declare himself in charge of things, do the exact opposite of what would make sense given the situation, not understand why everyone wants to throttle him, and then look very innocent when everyone gets in trouble because his stupid, stupid plan backfires?" Wyn asks irritably, sighing heavily. Clearly this has happened before, and often. "We love him anyway, but Ryan doesn't have the sense God gave a rock."
"I think there's a library of some kind, but I don't know where. I haven't really had a chance to explore yet." Wyn says, biting her lip.

Ducking his head he went back to poking at the giggling food on his tray. "Yes. Zhat sounds wery much like my Kaptin! Vell.. yes. I vould say that his plans do not backfire much but zhat is yet to be determined. He has reputation after all."
"Ah! A library! Zhen ve should look for it and see if ve are anyvhere near familiar space!"
no subject
"Ryan has a reputation as well, which is why we put his sister in charge of planning things now." Wyn says with a tiny snort. "That was also a joke." she continues, her expression (hopefully) making it clear that she's just teasing him now.
"Are you done?" Wyn asks, pointing to the half-eaten tray of sludge. "Because I can totally wait for you to eat your unflavored-Jello-and-glue before we go exploring." This? Also a joke. Sarcasm and Wyn are very well acquainted.
