Meet N' Greet

Part of the crew might be gone, but life on the ship goes on. In fact, new people have woken up and, eventually, they've been spat out into the mess hall.

Maybe it's better to introduce them to some of the worst aspects of ship life first, right?

Anyway, the word is out that there's new people, and someone should probably go say hello. Before the n00bs mistake the glop for crew.

"I'll try to keep that in mind." Eddie says grimly. "I guess this all won't be so bad. Might, uh, take some getting used to." He rubs the back of his neck. "I hope I don't find out what happened to the other crew." Eddie pauses a moment and comes up with an idea.

"Hey, if you really want off I could," Eddie looks around and lowers his voice "teleport us back to Earth."

Rose whips her head towards him, eyes almost popped out of her head.

She grabs him by the wrist pulls him off with her, through the cafeteria doors and into the hall. Despite the privacy the new setting affords them from the others (although not from Stacy) she still drops her voice to a hissing whisper. "Really? You think you can do that? Have you ever teleported when there was time-distortion or multiple dimensions involved before?"

"Uh, well, no, but I can give it a try." Eddie spins his tail in a circle, creating a fiery trail which transforms into a portal. Almost immediately, another portal appears behind Rose. Eddie stares curiously between the two. He sticks his hand through the one he made and comes out the second one. Eddie taps Rose on the shoulder and pulls his hand back through.

"Hmm, I was going for something a little more distant."

Rose sighs heavily. She's disappointed, but not terribly surprised.

"Shit. Figures. This stupid place kidnapped us through time, of course it's shielded against portals and crap like that."

She runs a hand though her hair, shaking her head.

"Least you tried it. And seems like you can probably still port within the ship."

"Seems like it. I can usually make a portal to wherever I can imagine, but I'm still going to need to explore this place before I start 'porting around it." The two portals vanish.

"Maybe you could give me a tour?"
