Meet N' Greet

Part of the crew might be gone, but life on the ship goes on. In fact, new people have woken up and, eventually, they've been spat out into the mess hall.

Maybe it's better to introduce them to some of the worst aspects of ship life first, right?

Anyway, the word is out that there's new people, and someone should probably go say hello. Before the n00bs mistake the glop for crew.

Tex stiffens as she glances to Pirogoeth, her body language giving the distinct feeling impression of glaring. "I'm nobody's puppet, and I've never been anybody's puppet," she growls.

After a moment, she responds to the second question. "It's a machine. A box people use to figure things out."

"Good," Pirogoeth said. In fact, the anger seemed a good sign to her. It was easy to have a puppet say they weren't and shrug it off. Anger meant that there was hostility for anyone who would think to try.

"A...machine? That can create a being?"

"Most computers aren't used for AIs-they're just something people use. A tool."

"Still, most machines are not beyond just basic angles and working with gravity and momentum," Pirogoeth commented. "Nothing is near the level to create."

Tex jsut shrugs. "We don't have magic where I'm from. So we make up for it."

"No magic?" Pirogoeth said. "Tis...almost difficult to imagine."

"And I don't really want to imagine anybody I know throwing magic around. They're bad enough with just guns."

"Gun?" So many words Pirogoeth did not know or understand. It seems this would be a theme in this place.

"...No guns either, huh? Think of a hollow stick. That puts holes in whatever's pissing you off at the moment."

"Sounds the same as magic," Pirogoeth commented. "Just a stick is added."
