Part of the crew might be gone, but life on the ship goes on. In fact, new people have woken up and, eventually, they've been spat out into the mess hall.

Maybe it's better to introduce them to some of the worst aspects of ship life first, right?

Anyway, the word is out that there's new people, and someone should probably go say hello. Before the n00bs mistake the glop for crew.

"Oh," she replies, disappointed. It's just a regular computer. Still, it could be useful for finding the Captain and Kaylee. And it seems the alien can speak perfect English, which is very convenient.

She looks from the computer back to him, still uncomfortably close. She's trying to resist the urge to reach out and touch the things on his forehead, because as curious as she is, she has a feeling that's probably rude in every culture. "Are you one of the people in charge here?"
