Meet N' Greet
Part of the crew might be gone, but life on the ship goes on. In fact, new people have woken up and, eventually, they've been spat out into the mess hall.
Maybe it's better to introduce them to some of the worst aspects of ship life first, right?
Anyway, the word is out that there's new people, and someone should probably go say hello. Before the n00bs mistake the glop for crew.
[ooc: read before tagging, plz]

"I don't think Stacy likes questions about herself." she continues, smiling slightly. "'Information classified' was about all I got."
no subject
"I haven't had any direct contact with the ship itself as of yet." Her smiles is met by a tight one from Kelly. It doesn't look like it's an expression she uses much.
no subject
"Oh, you don't want direct contact, trust me." Wyn says quickly, shaking her head. "... well, I dunno. What's your opinion on voices in your head?"
no subject
She shrugs. "I heard a friend of mine had one. He didn't seem to mind it. I'm sure I could adjust."
no subject
"... no, voices in your head aren't creepy at all. Especially when they're telling you that the psychological tests are inconclusive and that you might or might not be insane." Wyn says, sarcasm creeping into her voice. She's not usually this rude-- panic and edginess doesn't exactly bring out the best in people-- and the sanity thing is worrying to a not-quite-mad-yet mad scientist.

Kelly just shrugs. She doesn't see any reason to lose her temper, not yet anyway. "A voice in your head depends on the context I suppose. If you aren't suffering from a mental illness, it wouldn't be too big an issue I'd guess." Truth be told, the SPARTAN is just as on edge, if not more so. Not having a gun, not being in control of the situation unsettles her. But she's making the best of it.
no subject
"Yeah, the mental illness thing is a definite possibility. I... well, I think I'd realize if I've gone insane and I'm fairly sure I'm not-- but if you see any doomsday devices lying around, tell me." Wyn says, very seriously.
no subject
"I'll be sure to make a note of that." Doomsday devices, seriously. The only thought running through Kelly's head right now is what kind of freak boat she landed herself on.

"... this means you're from the future, doesn't it?" she says slowly, realization dawning.

"What, time travel?" Wyn asks, cheering up considerably. Finally, something she knows about. "It's possible, but... well, it's kind of illegal." Magic makes lots of things possible, but just because something's possible doesn't make it a good idea.
no subject
"Yes." A pause. "Illegal? As far as I was aware time travel was not even feasable. Let alone of enough import to warrant a legal ststus." This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to Kelly.
no subject
Wyn blinks at that. "... wait, they 'lost' all the temporal-shifting spells? That's an easy way to keep people from doing it, I suppose." she says thoughtfully. "And changing the past is really what's illegal, especially since this one mad scientist tried to go back in time and make it so that he was dictator of the world after World War II. It didn't work out so well, but the effects on the timestream and all that just made it easier to outlaw it."
no subject
Kelly just has to blink in return. "Spells? As in magic? As far as I know, magic is not real where and when I come from." That gets a nod. "I can imagine that such actions would have a great effect on the timestream. One misplaced bullet could stop a person from ever having existed for example."
Though if it were up to her? She would totally go back in time and find the Covenant homeworld and blow it up.
no subject
Wyn nods. "Yeah, as in magic, which is a huge giant pain in the ass for normal people." Her tone of voice is affectionate, though, as she does kind of go to magical university and she appreciates the lack of boredom. "I'm guessing that means you're from an alternate future, then."
no subject
"I imagine it would be. Though I suppose it would have its practical applications as well." That gets a nod, Kelly likes learning new things. "I suppose that's how it is. Things don't sound very similar after all."
no subject
"It's not that common, which cuts down on the usefulness. I go to uni with... it's got to be about 1000 sorcery students, and St. Andrews is the only university in the Empire with a sorcery school. There just aren't enough people with the aptitude for it to make a huge difference." Wyn says with a shrug, trying to explain it as best she can; this really isn't her area of expertise.
no subject
That gets a nod. "A specialist school then." Kelly knows just what it's like to be trained like that. "Well, maybe not entirely viable now with the lack of personnel but it sounds like in a few years there'll be a new workforce"
