Meet N' Greet
Part of the crew might be gone, but life on the ship goes on. In fact, new people have woken up and, eventually, they've been spat out into the mess hall.
Maybe it's better to introduce them to some of the worst aspects of ship life first, right?
Anyway, the word is out that there's new people, and someone should probably go say hello. Before the n00bs mistake the glop for crew.
[ooc: read before tagging, plz]

Oh man, not what he was aiming for! Still, he doesn't panic. Milagro does dumb things like cry over her barbie losing a head sometimes. He's got this.
"You don't," Jaime insists. "I won't lie, there's been scary stuff here, and fighting, but all the grown ups have their own ways of fighting it. As long as we can fight it, as long as we have any say in it, you won't have to, I promise. Everyone would protect you. We're good guys; that's what we do."

"Hey, you're like, what, ten? Eleven? Little kids aren't a burden--they're little kids. No one expects you to do anything more than just be you. What would make the grownups even happier than you helping us fight is you being safe and not scared."
Jaime pulls out a hanky from his pocket, and...well, he's not gonna tell Yuri what it's made of, because that'll probably freak her out more, but it still is basically just a hanky.
"We'd actually be, uh--sad, I guess if you had to fight, especially if we could take care of it okay. In fact, we try to make it so the least amount of people have to fight as possible--we try to end things real fast and fight the smart way so there's not a lot of fighting since most people don't really like to fight."
He's totally bullshitting, but y'know, little kids. Sometimes they buy stuff. It's worth a shot.

"R-really?" She looked up at him with those wide silver dollar eyes, totally ready to believe it.

"Really really," Jaime promises. "I promise that the people here won't make you fight anything scary. And even if you wind up having to, they'll try their best to protect you. And they won't mind doing it either. No one here expects you to fight, because it's okay to not want to fight, even when you're a grownup, too."

A small grin. "I'm not really an adult yet. I'm still just in high school. Sometimes in my world, high schoolers have to help fight the bad guys with the adults--but the difference is, the adults worry even about us. They're afraid for us sometimes, because they're afraid something bad will happen to us. So for us, even if we have the power to help, we're not made to, because we all have a choice--it's just a lot of us choose to."
He tilts his head.
"But then people my age have a few years on you. We've had time to just be kids. When I was your age, the most I worried about was homework and keeping my two best friends from fighting."
