She's about to give Kon some catty reminder that she'll yell whenever she feels like it, but then Clark –– sort of –– comes into view.

This is definitely not what she expected. Lois recognizes him, she does, but at the same time, she really doesn't. Clark can't be hiding that much muscle, and last she checked, Clark was in his early twenties.
