Jamie wasn't really sure what he was doing here.
Ostensibly, it was to learn magic, a kind of magic that didn't rely on some innate ability to warp the laws of reality; instead, if Jamie understood it correctly, there was nothing more to it than learning how to control something in the environment around them, and as such it sounded more like a type of science, the study of something that could be measured and defined within distinct parameters. This was something he could wrap his head around more readily than all the other kinds of magic he'd ever encountered, and that being the case, he was willing to take a shot at studying it.
He was apprehensive, of course - he'd tried something similar a few years ago, with some kind of life-energy chaos had told him about, and the results had been...less than encouraging. He didn't relish the idea of failing again, but he was becoming accustomed to being a disappointment - in his own eyes, if no one else's - and if he screwed this up, well, maybe he genuinely wasn't meant to meddle with the arcane. He'd never know unless he tried, though.
Locating the Jedi Temple, Jamie poked around until he found what he presumed was the lab he was looking for. If it wasn't, well, maybe this guy could tell him where he needed to go. "'scuse me. I'm, uh, looking for - Aibghalien Marsai?" His pronunciation was awkward and entirely phonetic and, therefore, probably horribly wrong. "I'm supposed to talk to him about, uh. Learning...magic."
It sounded ridiculous when he actually said it out loud and he wondered, again, just what the hell he was doing.
