Thanks to Kang, Marco had a name for who to look for - Sam Winchester. And it hadn't taken too much digging to find out that a good place to look for him was by an Impala in the hanger.

Come to think of it, hadn't there been some guy ages back who'd called up an Impala in the sensoriums? What was his name again? Dave? Dean? Dan? Marco might be looking for a Sam, but maybe there was a connection there.

Stepping into the hanger, Marco was immediately hit with the sounds of Metallica. He grinned to himself - nice, very nice - and started heading towards the source of the music, scanning around for any Impala's as he went.

Metallica, playing Of Wolf and Man in fact, while there were a couple of beers being drunk. A pair of guys leaning on the hood.

"Wish we could drag her up to the Obs Deck. View of the stars sucks around here," Dean commented.

"Yeah, but how would you get her back down?" Sam cracked open a bottle and leaned back against the Impala.

< Well, there are ways. You'd have to remove... >

He wrinkled his nose. < Word of advice? Let's never mention any sentence to Dean that involves removing anything from the Impala. >

< Hmm. >

He rolled his eyes, taking a swig. "I suppose we could ask Stacy if there's a way to make the hanger doors transparent or something. Though, come to think of it, the view of the stars sucks in the Bleed, too."

Now that voice sounded familiar - that had to be Don or whoever he was. With luck, the guy he was talking to would actually be Sam, and he wouldn't have to keep looking.

"Hi!" he said brightly, popping up into view. "Hey, the Ohm didn't kill your car after all. Awesome. That would have been a shame, it's a nice car."

Dean recognized him faintly too, and he then rebuked him, "Bite your tongue. Not even aliens can kill her, she's too awesome for that." He did give a reassuring pat to the hood, since when he first woke up, it was a fear that she was space dust.

"Sorry I ever doubted you baby," he added to the car.

Sam grinned. "Oh, come on. If we're a big enough deal across the universes to save, why wouldn't Stacy rescue a big part of that story?" He'd never feel for the Impala what Dean did, but she'd kept him saner in the months without Dean (both as a result of Trickster interference and actual death) than he would have been without her.

"Maybe Stacy was only interested in the car's story. You two are probably just here to keep it company," Marco said, grinning. He was taking careful note of how the two interacted, though - he couldn't see any of the tension that was always running just underneath when Tom and Jake talked.

"Sure, she was probably just worried about having too much awesome for the ship, eh Sammy? Didn't know if she could handle all of us." He grinned and glanced at his brother. Any tension about Schmuz, Dean was currently covering up with humor and jokes.

Whereas Sam was just...ignoring any tension. That was about standard operating procedure between them, though.

Sam snorted, nudging Dean in the ribs. "Probably more worried about what you'd do if you ever found out somebody else was touching her engine. Universe destroyed or not, you'd have found a way to make them pay."

Marco watched closely. But he wasn't Cassie - he could just look at someone sideways and suddenly know all their Issues.

Time to find out if he was in the right place. "So," he drawled. "You're Sam Winchester, right?"

"Yeah, and I'm Dean, remember? He's my brother."

The fact that he asked made Sam put his hand over his eyes and lean his head back against the Impala. "Look. In case the memo hasn't gotten around, whatever that other Sam that was here before me did to you? I'm a different one. He's back in the pods."

It had been a while since anybody had made that mistake, but it was still possible, he supposed.

Definitely the right place - quickly, he used his comm ring to send off a message. Jake, I've found him. He's in the hangar with his brother.

He didn't wait for a reply - instead, Marco kept his full focus on Sam, idly filing away what Dean's name actually was. He raised an eyebrow. "Other Sam? What, did Stacy kidnap your evil twin as well?"

He crossed his arms, not dropping his gaze. "I'm more concerned about the lodger in your head."

Dean immediately got up from off the Impala and got into Marco's face.

"You best be backing off right about now, you hear me? Sam's got it under control, are we clear?"

"Dean." Sam stood, not bothering to reach out to pull Dean back. It wasn't like his brother was going to clock the kid or anything. "You think maybe that's not exactly the best way to convince him that things are okay?" Well, as okay as they were getting, but still.

"And no, not my evil twin. Just a really dumb one from another universe, near as we can tell. He was involved when the Yeerks tried to take over Stacy the first time and ended up with brain damage for his trouble."

Marco didn't back down, instead shifting his gaze to Dean. So: the brother didn't have a problem with Sam being a voluntary Controller. "So the magic kitty says, apparently," he drawled. "And hey, maybe her mojo's on the money. But you'd better be damn sure that she's right, cause if she's not? Your brother's the one that's gonna be paying for it. At least back home you can ask voluntary controllers every three days whether they still want to be voluntary Controllers."

Well he wasn't going to clock him before, but yeah he's getting tempted to. Dean did have a major problem with it, but he was going to protect his brother and his decision.

"Rhiow's one smart magic kitty and she knows her stuff. And even if she wasn't, it wouldn't matter. Sam's fine, and he's got me. Hell, would he be talking to you now if he wasn't in control? Schmuz's clammed up right now and crap."

Sam rubbed the end of his nose. "Well, he gets chatty every once in a while. He's just not interested in talking to anybody other than me. And sometimes Rhiow." Since Rhiow was able to get into his head and do the talking. "Honestly, if Schmuz was in control? I wouldn't be standing right now."

"Great, so your Yeerk is lazy. And dude, I didn't come here to tell you to ditch the Yeerk. Hey, if you want to be a voluntary Controller? Go ahead. I think you're insane for wanting to be one, but I'm not gonna bust your bubble. But jeez, did you even find out anything about Yeerks before you decided to keep one? You do realise that he's still capable of tapping into your skills and memories and impersonating you anytime he wants to, right? Man, you can't have people checking that's it's still you in control just once."

"Trust me, *I'll* know if it's not Sam. Looked after him ever since we were little. This ain't our first possession rodeo either."

Sam leaned back against the Impala. "Actually, what's annoying is that you seem to think that nobody HAS checked to see that it's me in control." He shook his head. "Look. I guess they're from your world or something and that's great. Whatever. But in the grand scheme of things? Yeerks are not the scariest thing I've ever had riding me or the scariest thing that has the potential of riding me."

< I'm unconvinced about this Lucifer you think about, you know. > Schmuz was paying attention, but unwilling to come forward. He didn't quite understand what was going on, but it seemed prudent to stay back. < I understand that there is a certain amount of power in belief. Your memories bear that out. But Lucifer seems to be more of an analogy, a...boogieman, if you will. One created to keep your species in line. >

Sam reached up and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Now is not the time for a religious debate, dude," he muttered under his breath.

"Dude, did you not hear me? It doesn't matter how well you know him. Yeerks can impersonate their hosts completely. You'd only know if the Yeerk seriously slipped up. And guess how often that happens?"

Marco rubbed his temples, sighing. Seriously, did these guys not get that he was trying to help here? Dammit, Jake was so much better at this stuff than he was. "Yes, the magic kitty has checked, I did not miss that memo. All I'm saying? Get her to check regularly. Because if you've dealt with possession before than you should know that it's hell to find out that someone in your family was really trapped in their own head all that time and you never knew." His voice cracked, just a little bit, though you could hardly hear it. Even now, he still hated to think back on that time before his mom disappeared, when she was enslaved and he was just carrying on with life as normal.

"Look, we deal with this crap all the time back home, and Yeerks ain't got nothing on demons. Hell Schmuz isn't even nearly as good as a shapeshifter, he's freaking amateur hour. We know about possessions, and we got tests to make sure we're both good." Seriously, ask them how often they've been splashed or drank holy water, or had to cut their skin with a silver knife. Or the fact Sam had to do a lot of convincing that he was in control and not the other way around.

He then added, "And I'll admit, I don't go for this arrangement either, but it's temporary. "

Dean threw a brief glance to Sam that it better sure as hell be temporary.

He added, "And I know it's hell, believe me. Seen too many hurt by it." Thinking of when Meg possessed Sam and the Yellow Eyed Demon possessing Dad. If they weren't Hunters, the discovery might have been missed.

"I'm not the happiest person in the entire world with the arrangement either," Sam pointed out. He'd said it before, but the kid wasn't exactly there for it. "Neither of us is entirely happy with it, what with pretty much being forced together at gunpoint and really not being all that compatible in the first place. But, you know, we're managing.

"Besides that, in order to even start impersonating me, he'd have to get over his fear of heights."

< Did you really need to mention that? >

< What? It's kind of hilarious, you know. >

Marco watched Dean closely, analysing. He raised an eyebrow at the mention of shapeshifters - did they have something like morphing in their world - but the mentions of possessions they'd made through the conversation was something Marco found unsettling. Yeerks were bad enough, but at least he knew what he was up against: the idea of creatures from other worlds that he didn't know about that could take over people's bodies as well was not a happy thought.

He still wasn't entirely convinced that these guys really had all the information about Yeerks that they needed - but if they really had dealt with possession before, then they were at least in a much better place to handle it than most people.

Assuming that someone hadn't screwed up massively along the line and Schmuz wasn't actually in control and fooling everyone already, that is.

"Dude, if you're not happy with it, why did you agree to it?" Marco said. And then he heard about Schmuz, and started laughing.

"Heights? Heights? What, they never give him a Hork-Bajir host?" Marco paused for a moment, considered the image of a Hork-Bajir controller who was too terrified to actually do anything because the Hork-Bajir was too tall, and laughed harder. "Oh man, that has got to be one of the funniest things I've heard. But you are definitely way too tall, man. You're making my neck sore just to look at you. Seriously, you need to shrink a little. Or, even better, shrink a lot."

Dean wasn't gonna say anything about the heights fear since well, just don't talk to him about flying.

He did remark, "Dude, you did get the part he was forced to? Shiva pretty much said either get in or he was gonna waste both of them."

The shrinking part made him snort, "Yeah, good luck there, I've been trying since he turned 16."
