The More things Change [Open-ish, Pre-podpop]

Leon was, somehow, 900 kajillion light-years away from everything and everyone he ever knew. But what was he doing right now?

Walking through a ruined city that was crawling with raging infected in an attempt to locate and rescue any survivors. Again. Not that this work wasn't his stock and trade, but one would think that fate would have something else in store for him. But what is, is. At least he wasn't completely on his own, this time, having gathered a small group to go in and help.

With the virus having leaked out here initially, there was no telling where the hot zone was, so as a precaution, he (and anyone else who went) was wearing a modified combat-ready environment-suit. It was fairly light weight, but had some added padding in addition to body armor, and had ts own re-breather to supply air. In addition, he had a few weapons with him, as well as several clips of 'specialty' ammo, since he really had to be ready for anyone to be infected.

He moved through cautiously, looking for anyone who needed help.

((OOC: Open thread for anyone, infected or not, stuck in the city, and for anyone helping with the evac. Interacting with Leon isn't required, and you guys can free thread amongst yourselves if you want.))

Ronon was prepared to do all it took to take Ba'al down and he found a target for all of his anger. He slapped at his thighs then chest, a battle tradition on Sateda and a way of focusing himself in his red haze.

"You're not a g--" Ronon was cut off by a lunging Ba'al. The 'god' was stronger than he thought. Yeah, he took on Caldwell's goa'uld once and he was strong, but Caldwell wasn't as fit as Ba'al in front of him. Instead of connecting the dots, Ronon was completely surprised. He could only struggle to get Ba'al off him or him on top.

Alessa had been minding her business for the most part, but she's been noticing a definite change in the air around the city. It would still be a few hours before she was fully infected, but not being able to see the virus didn't mean she couldn't sense that there was something happening. It would just so happen that, upon walking around the city, she would spot an altercation between two people.

One she knew on general principal: you didn't become a demon and not know who was who, and in this case it was one of the tools of the ship, one of the security staff. The other person she knew from having a conversation before, and knew in her own way he was not at all mild mannered as he appeared. This little brawl would verify that: the golden glow in his eyes and the change in his voice was hard to miss. Whats he also realized, from their previous encounter was that Ba'al was choosing a subterfuge, one he was certainly blowing by pursuing these actions now. There was little Alessa could do about making Ronon forget this, but she could attempt to prevent a bigger fiasco.

She retained her human form but choose the younger girl form now, if only to avoid more problems than needed.

"Ba'al," she said, sounding as young as possible, and slightly hurt, "what are you doing? This man is trying to help you, and you're fighting him! People are acting really strange in the city, I'm scared! Will you come with me to the obs deck?"

She turned to Ronon. "He's kinda grumpy sometimes, and he does this thing with his eyes and stuff. Why are you guys fighting?"

Ugh, this guise with this childlike innocence. But she had learned well from Sharon, after all. SHE had still retained her innocence.

Alex had been leaving Stephen's lab after doing some work on an OS for him when some shouting caught his attention.

He ignored it, and continued making his way back to his room, but walked in on a fight, with a little girl standing dangerously close. He furrowed his brows. He hated fighting, and he was afraid to get involved, but he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he found out that little girl got hurt, and he had just ignored the situation.

Maybe disarming that bomb gave him a bit more confidence than he used to have, or maybe Luna's constant encouragement was finally getting through to him, but he walked over, keeping himself as calm as he could, ignoring the anxiety rising in his chest.

He instead used that anxiety to create his invisible shadow tendrils. Since they were working in near-unison he was able to manage to concentrate enough to create four at once. As soon as he was in range- about 16 feet or so from the actual fight, they shot out and wrapped around Ba'al's arms so that two of the tendrils were restraining each arm.

He pulled Ba'al back from Ronon as he bit his lower lip. He didn't know if he could manage any more to keep Ronon from attacking Ba'al.

"Stop it!" He seemed surprised by his own voice and took a moment before continuing far more meekly, "Y-you might h-hurt someone..." He nodded towards the little girl, and offered her a weak smile of attempted re-assurance.

Something about Alessa's arrival threw Ba'al off. Perhaps it was simply because it was an interruption to his violence, and to his adamant attack on Ronon, or perhaps it was because it was someone he actually had found... interesting, at least, who sounded so much weaker now. But his rage melded with surprise, and he lost his edge.

"This fool," he began, harshly, his voice still low and menacing, but his grip had lost its intensity, "Seeks to control me." She did not deter him much, but perhaps it was enough to make the situation less hopeless.

It made it all that much easier for him to be yanked away by force, when the boy arrived on the scene.

"Release me!" he growled, fighting to pull his arms free, aggression rising again, after Alessa's momentary deterrent. To believe they would restrain him, and keep him from his quarry... the impudence of them.

((ooc: Ack, sorry guys! I've been busy and completely forgot to turn notifs on for the whole thread orz. Fixed that now, though, so I'll be better! x_x Though I probably look dumb. :P))

Abruptly, and utterly failing to contribute any sense of normalcy, sensibility, or logic to the scene, a warehouse crashed out of some indefinable place in the sky to land heavily in the midst of the fracas. Out of that warehouse burst a dozen minions, swords and staffs (and chain guns and bombs) at the ready.

"NOBODY," proclaimed the most badass freakin' Overlord from a suitably melodramatic position atop the building, "is defeating the Tyrant Overlord but ME! So all you guys can just quit this crap now!"

Zetta: totally helping, right?

Alessa was close to face palming. As if this boy with the shadows wasn't enough, now came this...overlord person, who was most definitely a demon, she could feel it. And all in front of the guy from security too! Now she was going to have to act even more inconspicuous in order to get Ba'al away from these people.

"Ba'al, what is with all of these monsters and things! It's so scary! Please get me out of here!"

Ugh. Just...take the hint Ba'al. This play acting was already getting on her nerves.

Ronon was free of Ba'al and said target was being held back while most people were paying attention to the warehouse that just dropped out of the sky. It was a prime opportunity for Ronon to subdue the evil Goa'uld and so he struck.

"You lie, Goa'uld. Your life is mine!" Ronon was more than furious that another Goa'uld was on this ship and even 'chosen' by Stacy to fight the good fight. For the sake of ship security, Ronon had decided to end Ba'al's life and deal with the consequences after. Extracting a knife from behind he attacked, assuming no one would be quick enough to deal with him.
