(no subject)

Vader was not impressed by the hangar.

Outwardly, he was unmoved, and inwardly he was floored, but he would not ever admit to being impressed by the rows of ships, many of which he'd never seen before. He walked down each row as impassively as though this were any normal Imperial muster, only pausing to examine something that caught his eye if he felt like he was free from the gaze of spies.

Luke had been on the way down to do a routine systems check on the Shadow to make sure she was still in good shape, but paused when he saw a familiar figure walking slowly through the rows of ships. He was happy, actually, to see his father up and about, instead of confining himself and being hateful to everyone. Not that being up and about stopped Vader from being hateful, but Luke figured that he'd be less inclined to be such a way if he wasn't stuck in one place.

"Hello," he called, peeking around the landing skids of a ship he didn't recognize. "It's just me, Luke."

Oddly enough in among Dean's collection of music, there was Metallica. Playing the Imperial March (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWOTg3LYFNI). He found it as partly a joke to Sam, partly because it did sound pretty damn cool.

Just a coincidence it happened to be playing pretty loudly from the Impala's speakers as he checked over the weapons in the trunk to make sure they didn't take any damage either. And nope, no spies here, just another mechanic. Who's also a hunter.

Still he glanced up, and raised an eyebrow. Shit, Vader in the house. Huh.

"Actually, I was just going down to check on Mara's ship. I think you'll like it--the Jade Shadow is a really nice ship." He grinned, mostly because the Shadow was really the family's ship, and there were a lot of happy memories associated with it. "Would you like to come with me?"

Don't look now, Vader, but there's a glimmering pink light weaving a magenta trail of light in the skies above. Nanoha has finally convinced Fate to let her out of bed, and what better way to celebrate than flying around the vast cavern under her own power?

OBITCHYOUDIDNOT

Was pretty much the look of absolute DEATH Dean was giving back right about now.

"Probably because she holds up helluva a lot longer than your piece of shit fighters."

Sorry, Vader. Once she saw the very familiar black-cloaked figure moving on the floor below her, there was no way Nanoha wasn't going to swoop down in his direction - she paused in front of him, hovering a good foot or three off the floor, and favored the man with a smile. From this close, he could probably see that she still looked slightly banged up from the battle, though it had mostly healed (all but her arm, which was in a sling).

"It's good to see you out and about," the young woman smiled.

"And yet," Nanoha shook her head. "I guess we all have boundaries, whether we like them or not. Don't you think?"

The crankier you get, the sunnier she'll get, Vader. She won't let you get to her this time.

(Dean's temper... yeah. it's fierce...too bad he tends to leap before looking. >.>)

Silly Vader. There was the definite click-clack of a shotgun round sliding into a chamber, and Dean standing there, eyeing him coldly. At the moment not caring this was all badass Sith leader who'd likely really really ruin his day with his badass Force power. You just don't touch another man's car so cavalierly.

"Hands off the car before you lose them." Again, but he didn't mention that part out loud. Stupid Sammy and his SW obsession, he dragged his brother to all the movies. And then rewatched them on TV a few times. And yeah, it would mean a violation and getting tentacle slapped, but Dean couldn't give a flying crap right now.

"I... think we're talking about different things here," she shook her head. "You go off on tangents a lot, don't you."

"After all, the fighting took a lot out of people. It's only natural to rest up after something like that."

"She has," Luke said. "But the Shadow was a gift from some family friends. We all chipped in and customized it for Mara, though... she likes her ships to be perfectly suited to her needs, and it is."

Crew of three, for the three Skywalkers--Luke, Mara, and Ben. They weren't perfect, but they could work together as one.

"Come on, I'll show you around. As long as you promise not to smudge the walls or chip the paint, I'm sure Mara wouldn't mind." She would probably actually mind a lot, but Luke would be vigilant, and hopefully, no harm would come to anybody or the ship.

Vader likely heard the creaking of his leg first. And then the humming. Some boisterous shanty-like song, being hummed.

Hiccup was climbing around the ships themselves, with books on his omnicomm. He was trying to learn about them, and that meant poking at things. But that leg of his was not good for climbing, and that meant he slipped with a yelp, got it caught between two joints (this one was some kind of transforming robot-plane thing) and was left there, dangling upside down in Vader's way, omnicom landing on the floor with a clatter.

Hiccup sighed.

Oh hey, it was his buddy Crazy Vader.

"Hello," said Hiccup, upside-down, hair swaying.

"...I'm pretty sure you do, actually," Nanoha answered, but she was content to have that be the end of that. She glided alongside him, looking for all the world like she was just happy to be flying under her own power again (she was). "And that's true," she nodded. "On the battlefield you don't have that luxury. Which is why moments where you can recuperate are all the more valuable."

"But if pushing yourself now - when you have the time to rest - means that you'll be worse-off later - when you're needed - then isn't it just common sense to ease back just a little?"

Dean smiled, and it was the smile that was more in keeping with the man who tortured in hell. Vader had the force, Dean just had quick reflexes.

And he fought dirty. So his aim and shot would be right for the hand holding the lightsaber. Right before dodging like hell.

"Wouldn't be the first time," he calmly said. Facing Death was just a typical day for him.

"I'm not settling," Luke said amiably, using the Force to trip the access panel and lower the ramp for the Shadow when they approached. "She's a good ship, with a lot of shielding--" Mara's protective of those she loves "--and a lot of firepower for her class. Mara doesn't settle either, which is why she's so good."

Luke grinned as they started up the ramp. "Besides, I've commanded ships before, and it's not really my cup of caf."
