Family Reunion - Winchester Style (Which means rated PG-13 for language)
The directions Castiel had sent him down into the City, but Sam came out on the opposite side from where the house apparently was. Which led to no little bit of grumbling from him and various curses aimed at GLaDoS. He didn't even know how much time he'd lost, only knew it was enough for Dean to have gotten back on his feet.
Eventually, though, he did make it to the house, pausing a moment to just stare. It seemed so...normal in comparison to the other places in the City. But it was only a moment, though, before he ran up the front steps, pushing the door open and he was the one looking out of place, still in his X-Wing flight suit. He hadn't been kidding when he'd said he was snatched almost straight from the cockpit.
"Cas?" he called out, since it was Cas who had messaged him. "Dean?"
Anybody?

"It is good too see you ... in one piece."
It had been long enough since the battle that Cas' own injuries had a good start on healing. There were half-healed scrapes on his bare forearms, and elbows, a couple marks from cuts on his face, and the ugly green-yellow-purple of a large healing bruise on his forehead. His had what looked like soap bubbles on his hands, and a rag clutched in one hand. Obviously, he had been in the middle of cleaning something. From the still-dingy state of the house, it clearly needed it.

Sam.
All that mattered, get to Sam. He was still recovering. At least his breathing was back to normal, enough for practice. Same with his legs and arms. The numerous bruises were mostly healed, and the cuts were down to fading scars. Physically he was better. The rest? Uh he's been rocked by some revelations.
"Sam?"

"Dean!" The voice sounded like it came from upstairs, so Sam headed that direction, taking the steps two at a time, helmet still dangling from one hand.

He then gave his brother a small smile, "Welcome back, man."

He smiled as well, lifting a shoulder. "Glad to be back. Though I have to admit, I wasn't expecting to come back to all this."

Dean rubbed the back of his neck after they had let go, and just looked back at his brother for a moment. It was weird seeing him in the flightsuit, but thank god, at least it was nothing white. He didn't want to mention about what else Cas knew about the future. Sam didn't need to hear about it. Not now, maybe not ever.
"Come on, our room's upstairs. Got a couple of bedrooms." Of course snagged the master bedroom.
He briefly shook his head, "Man, what was it, I think you were still in high school the last time we were living in a house. Wild isn't it?"
no subject
"Hey, you're Sam, right?" she asks, and trots up to offer him a hand after wiping it on the leg of her plantsuit. "Tay Barnam, I'm, uh... your roommate, I guess. Cas and Dean said I could stay here, so..." She gestures around with her other hand, holding a rag of some sort. "We've, uh, been cleaning."

He looked around a bit and smiled. "Yeah, probably. I mean, I had the apartment with Jess, but it wasn't like this." It didn't have Dean there, which at the time he'd thought was a plus. He'd been so very wrong. It had taken losing Jess and Dean to show him how bad an idea it had been. "I think we managed to stay in one place most of my last semester of senior year." It had been easier with Dean old enough to go on hunts as well, he supposed.
Sam followed Dean up, looking around. The memories it dredged up weren't as bad as they could have been. For that, at least, he was grateful.

After a moment, though, he relaxes. The girl doesn't seem like a threat, after all, and it's mostly nerves from running that stupid maze that's giving him issues. More issues, at least.
And it helps that she looks vaguely familiar.
"Uh, hi." He manages a lop-sided smile as he takes her hand. "Yeah, I'm Sam. I think Cas forgot to mention you on the comms." Which...wasn't unusual. Castiel sometimes had a strange idea of what somebody needed to know.

Dean had a small smile on his face at that, and opened the door only to have the alien puppy charge at them, all tail wagging and excited.
"Uh surprise Sammy."
no subject
He frowned at the scratching as they approached the bedroom door, then paused when Dean opened it and...well. Sam stared for a moment before he knelt down. "Where...?" He looked up, slightly perplexed. And pulling off his gloves so that puppy teeth wouldn't rip them.
no subject
She's not, y'know, against a little conversation, either, but she's crap with starting them.

He added, "Daimon and some others rescued them from the planet. So there were a couple around to adopt. This one's yours."
no subject
He does offer her another smile, a better one this time. "Well, if they're upstairs, they probably heard me and will come down." Okay, he might be itching a bit to find Dean, but that didn't mean he had to be rude. "I've seen you before, haven't I? You look familiar."

He then asked tentatively, "You like him?"
no subject
Still smiling, though. Even working his way up to a grin.
no subject
"Uh yeah, didn't really get a chance to get a lot of supplies for him. Heard the store was under attack and why Daimon and some others were rescuing the little guguys. Maybe we can find some things."

Dean snickered as the puppy wagged his tail with an adoring look.
"Guess he likes you. Must have a thing for the freakishly tall." Granted Dean's assuming gender, he hadn't really checked that closely. Harder to tell with alien dogs.

And if the puppy ended up on the bed, taking a nap with him? Puppies did that. They didn't have to be picked up and put on the bed, right?
no subject
Nope, in fact after Sam would leave, the puppy yawned, and jumped up to one of the beds. Circling around a few times before curling up to sleep. Problem was? The puppy thought the spot in front of the pillow was perrrrfect for a little dog to sleep.
Dean just snickered, and made no move to move the dog. He just headed downstairs to check on their kitchen supplies and groceries.
