"The armor certainly helps," she responded, "But it cannot accomplish tasks on its own. I've worked with it for many years to be able to do what I can now."

She spoke as if the armor was more than just a tool because, well, it was more than just a tool for her. She valued her armor as more than just a means to reach an end.

"Given time," she added softly, "I don't doubt your ability to become a highly skilled warrior."

Samus certainly didn't wish her own experiences on Astrid, but she couldn't deny the potential Astrid held. Maybe, just maybe, Samus could help get her to that point without the same hardship she had in her own past.
