We're having such a good time [OPEN]

On a soft, comfortable couch on the Obs Deck, Tay is curled into a ball, sweating and shaking and looking far too pale. A large part of that might be due to the large pair of golden-brown wings that have appeared, extending from her back. She doesn't seem to be worried about the fact that she's clearly in a lot of pain, or the fact that she's sprouting wings, but it's not exactly the most fun experience.

She takes a few minutes to tap out a brief post on her omnicom, and then groans softly and squeezes her eyes shut.

This is not the most enjoyable birthday ever.

Jamie had been browsing on the Omnicom when he came across Tay's entry. While he's not in a position to offer her the painkillers she wants, it seems simple enough for him to get a tray from the mess hall and fill it up with slop. After a moment's thought, he takes a second tray and breaks it up into smaller pieces to sprinkle on top. It might help with the taste.

As he heads into the Obs Deck, there's a glance given to see if he can find her. "Tay? I brought ye some..."

Trailing off as he spots her, he takes one look at her back and nearly winds up dropping the tray in surprise. He is clearly destined to have some of the worst timing ever when it comes to talking to her, it seems.

Perfectly fine, as work is eating my face. :)

The tray is surrendered with alacrity, as it not only is the easiest thing to do, it looks as though it's something that she might need based on that noise she just made.

Jamie doesn't leave, though. Instead, he's still staring at those wings, trying to figure out what exactly is going on. He knows she didn't have them when he met her. And the only thing he can think of is that she's some sort of shapeshifter. He knows there's a few on board Stacy. But what could she possibly be turning into with wings?

"Y-ye aren't turning into some sort of bird, are ye?"
bonnypiperlad: (So...)

Ooh, very nice!

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-06-10 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Like that makes any more sense than turning into a bird? Jamie gives her a half-shrug, as if to say it was just a guess. And while he is curious, he's also at least somewhat aware that now is probably not the best time for her to try and talk.

He reaches out his hands to steady the tray if she'll let him, however.

"Look, do ye need the...a doctor?" Not that the Doctor wouldn't be intrigued by a girl with wings, but he may not be the best choice, unless Tay wants a impromptu lesson in how quickly Jamie would get annoyed that she wasn't being helped sooner.

Once he's convinced that she's not going to go through another wave of pain immediately, he lets go again.

"Ye can eat the tray, too," Jamie points out helpfully. "It's actually a bit better than the slop. Not much, mind ye. But a bit."

Eating that as well likely wouldn't hurt anything, and maybe it would even help a little more. He's not entirely sure what to do in regards to getting a doctor, though. Should he offer to take her down to medical? Would she even want to move right now?

"I could go see if I could get someone for ye, unless someone answered your post on the wee bitty computer?" Jamie hadn't actually thought to check that after he read the entry. He just went, got food, and came down. Dropping his head, he starts rummaging around in his sporran, intending on finding his Omnicom so he can check.

"Och," he mutters. "Did I leave that in my quarters after I looked before?"

Sorry I late! ^^;

Cas is wandering on to the obvs deck, when he spies the girl with wings. He stops, stares, then mutters something in Enochian.

Stacy doesn't translate it, which is just as well, because it was probably unprintable anyway.

... cas is not going to take this well, sigh X3

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"You have wings," Cas says. His strangled tone indicates that it's more than just surprise at something unusual that's causing him to state the obvious. "You-"

There's a pause. "When I spoke to you, at the meeting. You said you were an angel. But-" He stopped talking, evidently unwilling or unable to finish.

cas sez ;____;

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
He's at her side in an instant, hand on her shoulder. He can't help himself. "Your wings are physical- I've never seen anything like this ... you must be one of my sisters, but I can't-" He's staring at her face, but then he looks away, his own a mask of poorly suppressed grief. "I can't sense you," he mumbles.

His connection to his home, his family. He knew it was gone, but to have it shoved in his face like this ... painful isn't a very adequate word.

*sniffles* :<

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Cas really didn't know what was going on with the wings, or with her apparent total ignorance of their family, but clearly she was an angel, and as far as Cas was concerned, that meant she was his sister. His sister was suffering, and there was nothing he could do. Nothing he could do except do what he had seen Dean and Sam do for each other when one of them was hurting. He pulled Tay into his arms, and if his grip on her shoulder was a little too tight, well, he was new to this cuddling thing, okay?

Castiel turned, pressing his cheek into the top of her head, so she couldn't see the look of sorrow and loss on his face.

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
This sounds like something Dean would say, and so Castiel ignores it. "I believe I am supposed to lie to you now," he mumbles, "and tell you everything is going to be okay."

There's a pause.

"Everything is going to be okay."

awww

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-12 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well yes," Castiel agrees. "I don't understand it myself, but I'm told it is the point..." But then suddenly the girl in his arms is relaxing, flexing these odd human wings. Castiel blinks at the color, then relaxes slightly as they disappear. That at least seems completely normal to him.

"Hm." Castiel says non-committally. He's had plenty of contenders for 'worst day ever' and honestly ... he doesn't want to think about picking just one. He doesn't know what else he's suppose to be doing either, so he continues to hold Tay.

no worries

Cas blinks, and stares at her oddly. "You're my sister," he says, then looks away. "I couldn't have done ... nothing."

[identity profile] chattybroad.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Taaaaaaaaaayyyyy!"

Amelia, as always, being loud and energetic. But hey, she brought food, like she said she would! (Or...that stuff they told her was food, anyway. It reminded her of when Martha was on duty at the church kitchen.) Of course she was unaware of the fact that somebody else had already beaten her to it, but she wouldn't be too heartbroken to find out.

She would have run in, but she had to be careful not to spill anything (a goal which was not entirely successful).

When she saw Tay, she stopped, eyes wide. "Wooooow. You weren't kidding."

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Cas blinks at her in confusion. "I'm Castiel," he explains. "I'm an angel of the Lord..... or I used to be." He grimaces. "... but if you're also an angel, that makes you my sister, still. ... Little sister?" It's hard to say. The vessel's age does not indicate the age of the angel inside. Something tells Cas that Tay is younger than him though.

He blinks again and this time he looks concerned. "There are rooms," he says. ".... do you have a room?"

Castiel looks away. "I disobeyed and I was cast out of Heaven" he mumbles. "So yes, I Fell."

When he looks back at her, he's clearly looking for a change of subject. "We can find you a bed," he says, standing and offering a hand to Tay to help her to her feet.

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Castiel shrugged. She was a lot like Dean, his little sister was. Dean wouldn't want help either. So he turned and started to lead the way towards the living area of the ship.

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"... you are my sister," Cas says, "but ... you haven't tried to kill me yet." He quirks an eyebrow as he looks over at Tay. "You aren't going to, are you? Try to kill me?"

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm a Fallen angel," Castiel corrects, but he's not going to push the issue.

"Tay," he repeats. It's not exactly an angel's name, but then neither is Anna.

They've reached the living quarters, and Cas pushes the door to an empty one open, poking his head inside. "Here," he says, holding the door open for Tay.

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Cas looks kind of uncomfortable. "It's ... what you do for family," he says. Or so Sam and Dean have taught him.

"You should ... get some rest."

[identity profile] angel-ofthe.livejournal.com 2010-06-13 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
She was asleep, so Cas turned and left the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

Well, sometime is better than not at all, he supposes. Although he hopes it's sooner rather than later - especially when she curls in on herself like that.

If the doctor doesn't show up soon, however, Jamie may very well change his mind on going to get his Doctor. In the meantime, he thinks of what else he can do to help. He could play, if he had his practice chanter with him, but he couldn't carry both that and the tray. What else...ah.

"Look, maybe I could...tell ye a story or something to pass the time until this doctor gets here?"

He's not a great storyteller, but it might distract her for a little while, anyway.
