"You're looking for a role on the ship," Billy realizes, suddenly appearing thoughtful. "That data you were considering when you found me---were you thinking about helping in a science department? There are training programs available for that. I teach the engineers in training sometimes. But there are other programs you can help with too. I think there are several people training some of the others for combat, and people training in medical as well."

He pauses, than flashes a smile. "But your piping is excellent."
