Everybody has to eat, even super serious Spartan-II's.

The Chief's in the mess hall, sitting by himself and working his way through a ration of tasteless nutrient mush while working on something on his omnicomm. The Chief's never been one to really take refuge in the sensoriums to make food taste better, he's gotten used to it and doesn't even think about it much.

He's not unaware of what's going on around him, but he has most of the comings and goings of the room basically tuned out.

This means someone should bother him, y/n?

"Mind if I sit?" He vaguely seen the guy around, but they hadn't really talked. He hadn't met much with Security since Leon let him sign on.

"I'm Dean by the way. Seen you around, but I know everybody's been running all batshit crazy for a while with the nightmares." And was he ever glad that was done with. Ok so he couldn't help gank the SOB in the end, but hey, got to kill some evil things and survive. In hunter terms, that was a good day.

He's kidding, of course.

He snorted at the first remark, "Yeah, welcome to my life. Deal with that with every week for decades now."

"Figured I should make with the nice-nice since I'm working with you guys more," Dean gave a friendly smile in turn. "Usual intros you know?"

Dean nodded, "Yeah, same thing basically, only for us, it was supernatural threats. Usually not as big scale as the Nightmare King, but been a few of those back home too."
