TV, Junk Food and Sumos [Bendytimed to after Pod Pop]

The sound of manly grunting, yells and otherwise loud shouts from a large screen could be heard as accompanied by the sound of crunching and the noise of a drink being emptied with a few slurps. In a far corner of the Media Library, there was a area that was termed "Ben's Corner" which was a rather elaborate set up. A futon rolled out on a table against the wall, a large screen complete with media playback device, and the remains of snack food, mostly popcorn laying to the side.

Ben's hand was dipping into the bowl again, crunching a large handful of popcorn once more as he watched Sumo Slammers on what amounted to a wide screen television. He had found records of media from his homeworld, Sumo Slammers Classic and Hero Generation, and a third unreleased season called Evolutions and was enthralled by his favorite television show. Slurping from his drink, he clicked fast forward through the credits and set up the next episode.

"Man what time is it?" he wondered, looking at the Omnitrix which stared back at him without displaying the time. Shrugging, he ate another handful of popcorn and sipped his drink. "Boy I hope the bus doesn't miss a sudden dip in junk food."

Ben belched, a resounding echoing noise across the Media Library before he settled back down for another episode.

"Ooh, nice one, man." Static said, walking over. He'd been having issues lately, something nagging at him, and he'd finally figured it out about an hour ago; he never got to see the movie they made out of one of his favorite shows, Lightning Bug. It was supposed to end the series, but first there had been the whole Club thing, then the titans.. he never saw it. So he was hoping the media library might have it.

"What'cha watching?"

"High sugars at this time of night? Aren't you supposed to be in bed, getting some sleep?" Nura is leaning in the doorway, smiling a playfully innocent smile. The glow of the television brings out the blue blue in her eyes. She cocks her head to the side, arching a white eyebrow archly. "Or does your watch make you half nocturnal as well, Ben?"

Nura giggles playfully at Ben's rapport and sweeps her long, wavy white hair off of her shoulders. She really needs to get it cut sometime soon before she forgets. "Really? Your parents must be pretty relaxed to let their teenage son defend the planet past his curfew." Her parents certainly didn't.

"Don't mind if I do," she coolly says, picking a beanbag chair from the wall and dropping it down with a plop next to the couch. She dropped down into it, settling. When she was settled, she leaned back into the beanbag and turned her attention to the television.

"So...this is what you would watch in your dimension?"

"Hmm, really?" She digs her elbow into the beanbag and rests her cheek against in her hand. "Lucky you." Her tone isn't sarcastic, but a bit disappointed. Her parents had been very strict, if the Public Service hadn't been the first clue.

Her lips flattened into a thin line while her white eyebrows raised at the commotion happening on the television. "This seems really violent for a children's program. Are you sure this was for kids?" The glow of the television flickered in hues as the scenes moved. Nura's eyes grew large with child-like delight.

"Not that I am against this program..."

Nura has never seen something so enthralling. Cartoons have been just about been done away with in the thirty-first century. Anything too violent had bene considered not appropriate for children. She'd watched old holo-vids of space-age redoes of the modern classics. At the appropriate age, of course.

The bright colors and action of the program are entrancing. She reaches for popcorn bowl and dips her hand in and retracts with a handful of the popped kernels. She uses her other hand to pop one into her mouth.

"You don't say..." She's at least eighteen, married, fights bad guys for a living, and yet she is drawn to this old children's program. Go figure.

Nura is the epitome of a small child getting their hands on the forbidden keys to their uncle's candy store. She pops more popcorn into her mouth while pulling her legs to her chest and resting her chin on top her knees.

The glow coming off of the television makes her eyes twinkle blithely. She is utterly engrossed in this program that the media playback device is playing.

"Sweet deal. Mind if I join you? I could use some mindless animationy goodness." He said, taking handful of popcorn.

Nura's reaction to the character's falter is much different from Ben's 'oh no!' expression.

She leans forward in her beanbag chair, craning her head, hands empty of popcorn on her knees, her mouth open in an 'ooooh' expression with lips in lips parted and her mouth in the shape of an 'O'.

"Nice. Oh, when we're done, don't let me forget to get you to change me back. I have officially given up on pranking Rose." Static said, grabbing a chair and sitting. The one flaw with being ten years older, he'd noticed, was joints not being quite as forgiving as they used to be. Sitting down showed him that.

Nura almost claps her hands enthusiastically at the hero's triumph within the television program. Yes, it is a little hokey, and the puns are numerously so, but still...she hadn't really seen a cartoon since M'rissey and Lyle had Old Cartoon Movie Night in Legion HQ. And those had always been some queer rabbit and a duck that had a speaking impediment.

She falls back into the beanbag chair with her arms out on each side of the chair with a relaxed, lenient smile. "That was a stellar turn-around by the hero."

"Really? Well then, we should have an Old Cartoon Movie Night sometime soon," Nura says, leaning forwards with her hands on her hips and a playful smile to her curved lips. "You bring the vids and I'll convince Matt to let us take some popcorn."

She laughs lightly, head tilted to the side, eyebrow raised, and hair spilling over her shoulder. "I suppose then you will be staying up way past your curfew then?" Her wedding ring glints in the bright glow coming off of the television.

"Oh, I think I can allow that little indiscretion," she says this with large, innocent - well, as innocent as she can be defined - blue blue eyes. And her smile can be 'cheat to the camera' as ever.

She's enjoying herself. "...but you have to zeezee me on the comm when you decide to watch the movie."

"You better," Nura says with a mock-serious tone of voice and a short wag of her finger like she's lecturing him. "Because if you don't, I am taking away your high sugars!" she put her hands on her hips with a loud 'harumph sound', nose in the air.
