Jamie takes a moment to adjust his rifle, making sure it's not going to accidentally discharge while he climbs into the hatch. He's about to start up when he spots a stray helmet he had overlooked earlier, and he uses the straps to attach it to his belt. It won't prevent him from getting in and may very well come in handy later.

He offers the stick up to Kaylee. "Could ye put this in first?" he asks, balancing on his good leg. "I'd appreciate it verra much."

Once that's done, he looks up at the tank. "Och, here goes nothing," he mutters, before beginning the tricky climb up and in.

The climb is going fairly well, all things considered, and he's almost at the top when his feet slip and he nearly loses his balance altogether. It's only by luck that he manages to grab on to the lip of the hatch and hang on for dear life.

"Kaylee!" he calls, his voice filled with alarm.
