Operation: Reunite my Mamas [Closed]

The messages were sent. Hopefully, both Nanoha and Fate were on their way. For the past "week" or two, Vivio had watched as neither of her parents had even talked to each other. Even worse, it seemed like those she asked for help couldn't get through to them... or possibly didn't bother.

And after that horrible dream - a world where she was with NEITHER? She didn't want to deal with it anymore. She had to reunite her family again. And this was the only way she could think of.

Hopefully, she was expecting them to find a Barrier Jacketed Vivio waiting for them in some abandoned city setting in the Sensoriums. Instead, she chose Nanoha's house - their house. And Vivio would be hiding as, hopefully, they'd arrive and find each other.

As Vivio went and hid, she waited...

"Okay, okay. I'm--" Fate caught herself before she could apologize again. "I won't do it again."

She was silent for a moment, trying to figure out how to bring up what was bothering her now. The last thing she wanted was for Nanoha to get angry again, but...

"Nanoha... can I ask you something?"

"Huh? Of course you can, Fate-chan."

She tilted her head to the side before resting it against Fate's shoulder.

"The last thing you said to me, before you left the Sensoriums..." Fate pulled back a little, moving her hands up to place them on Nanoha's cheeks.

"I know my worrying is one of the things that caused this mess... so I won't tell you not to use the Blaster System if something happens. Just..." She leaned forward a little, pressing her forehead to Nanoha's. "Try not to overdo it, okay?"

Nanoha paused, closing her eyes, even with Fate so close. She knew where Fate was coming from on this, she knew what the upper levels of the Blaster System could do to her, but... there were more important things to consider.

"I promise I'll only use it if I need to. And I'll use it only as much as I need to."

A little smile. "I won't do anything too stupid."

"Thank you." Fate said, returning the smile.

She knew there were more important things too, which is why she didn't tell Nanoha not to use the Blaster System at all. She didn't like that mode, but sometimes that much force was necessary.

Nanoha's hand trailed slightly down, grasping at the "shirt" of Fate's plantsuit by her shoulder, pulling the other girl a bit close, and she momentarily averted her eyes. It felt nice not to be fighting anymore.

"Erm... Fate-chan, so... there's something I've really been missing for a while, you know? So--"

And without further ado Nanoha threw her arms around the other girl, pressing her lips to Fate's.

Fate really missed this too. Any surprise she felt at the sudden kiss quickly disappeared as she returned it, one thumb stroking Nanoha's cheek.

Okay, Fate. A week or two of stress and fighting and being lonely, isolating oneself in one's office to do work...

...have really taken a toll on Nanoha. Which would be the reason she pushed you up against the wall of the house (their house?), one arm wrapping around your waist and the other coming to your hair.

~~Nanoha so bold.~~ Okay, that surprised Fate a little, but she only pulled back for a second to take a quick breath before pressing her lips to Nanoha's again. Her hands were on the other girl's shoulders now, slowly curling into fists as she gripped the fabric of her plantsuit.

This was something she'd sorely, sorely missed, and Nanoha took a fast, deep gasp of air when Fate broke off the kiss before returning to it with renewed vigor, fingers curling through Fate's hair and one hand sliding up her side to reach to her collar... with the clear intent of loosening the seams of the plantsuit and pull it down.

In fact, she was just going to go ahead and skip to the "loosening the seams" part.

Vivio was curious. Had her mothers arrived? Did they meet?

Were they talking?

It got the better of her and she had to run in and see.

Finding the room they were in, she went to open her mouth, hoping to say something just in case their meeting went south...

And she just stared in awkward silence as she saw her mothers. Together. Acting as if they were... well... fighting? No, not fighting - Nanoha-mama and Fate-mama were kissing.

Whatever they were doing? It was causing poor Vivio's face to turn red in embarrassment.

Part of what made Nanoha as good as she was in combat was her spatial awareness; she could feel when someone was nearby even if she was busy fighting someone else. Now, while she was certainly not fighting with Fate right now, she couldn't help but feel eyes on them...

...and so froze with her hand loosening Fate's plantsuit, turning her head just enough to see the girl watching the two of them.

"V-Vivio...?!"

... This wasn't happening.

This can't be happening.

A split second after noticing the room's third occupant, Fate turned away with a surprised yelp, quickly trying to fix her plantsuit. Oh god this was worse than that mistletoe incident...

Just give Fate-mama a minute to freak out, guys, then she'll be able to talk again.

"U-Um..." Vivio stammered, watching her parent's reactions. Well... it was a lot better than watching them fight.

"Erm... is... is everything okay?" Vivio asked

Nanoha's hands were still on Fate, but they were (for the moment) forgotten. "Uh, yes! They're... they're just fine! Everything's fine, Vivio!"

"...we, um, didn't know you were in here."

"Oh... um... yeah, I..." Vivio began, before sighing, hanging her head and letting her shoulders drop.

"I'm sorry I lied to bring you two here, but... when you two weren't talking to each other and Nanoha-mama wasn't around with Fate-mama, I knew something was wrong. I wanted to listen to what Rein-chan and Matt and Dr. McNinja had told me, but..." she shook her head. "...I couldn't. Not after a dream I had..."

"Vivio..." Fate turned as soon as she was sure her plantsuit was straightened, all traces of her embarrassment gone. "We should be the ones apologizing. Your mamas were acting stupid. We didn't realize we were hurting you too..."

She knelt down in front of her daughter. "You can forgive us, right?"

"Fate-mama's right," Nanoha moved, crouching right besides the blonde woman and reaching up to put a hand on the girl's shoulder. "I was being stupid. You're the most important thing in the world to either of us."

Vivio looked to her parents, both whom were very apologetic in what they were saying...

...then nodded and hugged the both of them.

"I don't want to lose either of you..." Vivio said.

Fate wrapped one arm around Vivio, the other slipping around Nanoha's waist. "You'll never lose us. Nanoha-mama and I will always be here for you."

"We're not going anywhere," Nanoha agreed, her hand coming up to cup the back of Vivio's head, fingers running through the girl's golden hair as the three of them embraced. "That's a promise, okay?"

Vivio nodded as she allowed her parents to hug her. "Okay..."

She was happy. She had her parents together again, and that's all she ever wanted. "Again, I'm sorry I did what I did..."

"It's okay, Vivio." Fate said, smiling down at her daughter. "You wanted to help us... and it worked. Nanoha-mama and I were being pretty stubborn, so we might still be avoiding each other if you hadn't done this."

"I think we'd definitely still be doing it," Nanoha said with a sigh as she ruffled her daughter's hair.

"The last thing we need right now is to be apart, right?"
