Sunlight pooled across the ivory tiles and she sat, dressed in black Bene Gesserit garb, her long, long red hair piled and coiled atop her head. Arha watched Obi-Wan move across the room, her eyes hungry and sharp, her body tense. His fingers touched her chin and she tilted a glance up at him, softening just a little. He pulled the tension from her body without even trying and leaned down to kiss her.
Arha wound herself around him, her fingers sliding into his hair, brushing against his shoulders, even as a sea of opposition rose. Over and over they cried out, thousands of Mothers-Within until they were a roar. She knew what they were saying, but she ignored them.
"I love you," she whispered, pulling back. There was a snap-hiss of a lightsaber and Obi-Wan's eyes went wide and she felt him take a sharp breath. "I shall always love you." He struggled to say something and she smiled. "I just wanted you to know."
Arha looked down and saw that it was not a lightsaber at all, but the crysknife she had given him and his blood gushed, vivid red and hot, against her hands. He shuddered once more and she was cradling dead weight, staring into his empty eyes. She would love him and she would kill him.
And the flood would come.
She woke with the unfamiliar sensation of cold sweat running down her spine as she jerked awake, gasping and clinging to Obi-Wan even as she tried to calm herself. Her hair was soaked, her breath quick, shallow, and ragged as she realized her eyes were stinging and her throat was raw. Arha wondered if she'd screamed and shivered violently when she realized she couldn't tell if she had or not.
Obi-Wan.
Arha tried to move, to call out, but couldn't. All she could do was shake silently, rattled by the vivid dream.
