Wolfwood had remembered dying. He remembered the regret, the pain, the wish for his Eden...
And then, as he blacked out, he found himself awakening, naked and covered in goo.
This is unpleasant. He got up and saw many others experiencing the same phenomena. He simply kept his head down, and followed the pathway as told. After the tentacle experience, he was guided to a place full of items. In a disorganized pile, he found a few small objects he recognized. His shades and a rosary were easiest. He also found a zippo with a cross on it, and a small silver tube labeled "Holo-smokes" that produced an odorless, yet fulfilling, cigarette when a button on the side was pressed. This made him very happy.
Then, as he turned, he saw it. In an almost shrine-like arrangement among other items, labeled "VtS", it rested against a wall, wrapped lovingly as he would have himself. He thought for a moment. This was his second chance, a chance of peace, a chance for the Eden he had prayed for in his "final" moments.
But it was HIS burden. He couldn't risk it falling into the wrong hands, nor could he risk being in a situation without it. That in mind, he grabbed it from the obviously mislabeled shrine, and started making his way out.
