Asuka is relatively content for the first time since she's come on board the ship. She has a purpose. She has a drive. She's a pilot again. The girl grinned to herself. She'd gotten in, even after the General had said she was too young. Too young? Yeah, right! She could handle anything that was thrown at her. Besides, if she could handle an Eva the X-Wing wouldn't be a problem. At least, that was her train of thought. So far all she'd one was train in the sensoriums and that seemed to be working out decently. As did her training with Luly.
She grimaced. That was just painful, still. She wasn't going to quit though. Giving up wasn't in her nature and she'd be damned if she was going to walk away now. Not that she would ever admit it to herself, but both sets of training grounded her. They gave her something solid and dependable to hang onto. Especially because it seemed like she was all alone here.
Alone. That was probably why she was on the observation deck, regarding the view. It was a view she'd probably seen a few hundred times before by now, but it was still interesting to contemplate. Although at times she caught herself thinking too hard about what might have been, what should have been and where she ought to be. She didn't really have many "friends" on board the ship (not that she'd had many back home either). That bothered her for some reason. She scowled to herself and turned away from the window. She didn't need anyone.
Her gaze fell on another and snapped, "What are you looking at?"

Daimon Hellstrom spent almost every waking moment repairing the Vatican. Most of the materials used for reconstruction were from the fortifications of the building. Some areas he could not attempt to fix as they were beyond his skill. But what was most disheartening was to see the works of art that no one could restore. Such beauty that was now lost for all time. He tried not to think about it.
Daimon set away his tools, sighed, and sat on the floor. Even the Son of Satan could not work forever.

Bella's been down in the City a lot lately, since she and One-Leaf-Ear discovered the Plant Temple. Not that it can really be called a temple anymore, for the plant itself has regrown to form a loose round dome of narrow trees, with several child-sized flower buds scattered about its heart. It's... serene in there. Not unlike the presence of the Garibah Tree. There's none of the slow intelligence to it, but the place is alive as one entity.
Bella can be seen through the spaces between the trees, bounding around on the unusually healthy-looking green grass.
She seems to be doing some kind of drill.
