Podpops get crazy.

Cassie has yet to find a real good excuse to not go, especially when people she knows could show up. Besides not being the biggest social butterfly, she has yet to figure out what her role on this ship is, and welcoming new people just doesn’t seem to be her place right now.

She isn’t really Wonder Girl, right now. She isn’t a tech genius, or an experienced medic, or a leader, or anything. At best she’s got some training and a lasso, and with all these people, what can she do with that?

Needless to say, thinking about it leads to a bit of a down moment... until, of course, a certain someone crosses her path.

Sorting things out [Open]

There was such a thing as too much help.  Arriving in a new place was disorienting, and having people willing to help her with the adjustment was useful, but being surrounded by people that insisted on slamming absurd information into her over and over again was making the adjustment nearly impossible.  None of what they were telling her was possible, and yet she had not woken up from this dream (nightmare?) yet. 

She had slipped away from the group that seemed to alternate between being curious and apprehensive of her.  A seemingly close knit group that she would have no choice but to integrate with if she wanted to survive whatever she had been thrown into.  While they all knew each other, she knew only one of them.  Her wandering took her back to the Sensoriums, and the direction her thoughts had wandered to clearly gave Stacy something to work with.

Around her were massive trees with brilliant green foliage.  A vornskyr called in the distance.  Mara looked around her, taking in the jungles of Myrkr and the place where she had worked with Luke Skywalker the first time.  Despite the deadly carnivores and a wetter climate than she generally liked, this had been one of her favorite of Karrde's bases.  It was nine years later, and an amused expression settled on her features.  At the time, she had wanted nothing more than to kill that man.  Now . . .

Mara walked to the edge of the clearing, pulling herself up onto a low branch to serve as a seat while she tried to relax, her back against the trunk and her eyes closed.  A simple breathing technique, refinding her calm and focus after being battered like a ship caught in a solar storm.  The quiet sounds of the jungle, provided by Stacy, helped her to finally quiet her mind.

Wyn thought she could head out to the Obs Deck and wait for the array to finish running on its own. She thought she had double-checked it. She thought she could have some downtime before everything started going crazy around her yet again. Clearly she was wrong, as she sprinted down the hallway towards the sound of the explosion she had just heard. At least she had remembered to put up a containment field around her desk, just in case-- although she certainly didn't remember her omnicom. That was left on one of the bone-like tables near where she had been sitting.

This? This is why Wyn shouldn't be allowed to leave Special Weapons until her projects were completely finished.
