"Despite their situation with the enemy - dire as it may be, if it's anything like what we've faced here - they were able to muster the resources to send out a successful rescue party for us. That suggests that they still have skilled warriors there, as well as commanders who can plan ahead. They aren't just a group of frightened civilians - which, by the way, is what the majority of our group here is comprised of." Including himself, loath as he'd be to admit it - he's been in a few battles before, but that's nowhere near enough for him to maintain his composure more than superficially in a situation like this.
