"He's right, there are people here who will need help," and Wally's torn between his desire to work out what the hell's going on in the hopes that they may be able to put a stop to this, or saving one life at a time.
After a moment's (yet another near-millisecond) pause, he adds, "We've got a choice-- either we stay and help out the people who need help, or fight our way out and hope that when we come back we bring reinforcements with us."
