May these shadows rise to walk again [Closed - Before the podpop]
Dick hadn't lied to Leon when he said he had a good idea where Jason was hiding. He was outside of the building he had tagged, just waiting. Mostly because he knew Bruce would want to be in on this.
Jason was one of theirs, after all.
He lifted his head, straightening as he felt a subtle change in the air. "I didn't want to go in without you," he said.

"I wasn't going to let you," he replies, sidling up next to him. It would appear that he's finally shaved and done something to at least tidy his hair.
He adds, "But I appreciate the heads up."

"This is your 'case'," Bruce has obviously been speaking to Leon, "Lead the way."

He really tries not to think about that much.
Nodding, he straightens fully and starts across the street. He does glance through the windows, careful not to leave himself open. Nor does he open the door straight away, instead checking it out carefully before pushing it open. From the side. It's not that he doesn't trust Jason, but...well, Jason did already shoot him once. He's not taking any chances.
Once he's convinced it's all right for the moment, he nods to Bruce and moves into the hallway. "Jason?" he calls out, staying to the side of the hall and keeping track of Bruce as best he can.

The longer the silence lasts, the harder his face becomes.

He stepped out of the only room with a light source, he was glad he'd hid everything he had away. Wouldn't want Dickie to turn it over to Mr. Kennedy.
"At least tell me you went to see a medic Dickie, if not I might have to shoot you again then drag you there." He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the door frame. His glare was directed at only one person, Bruce.
"You got some nerve coming to face me old man. And you best have a good reason for it, or I might chance my mind about not shooting anyone else."
no subject
Dick moved forward, not quite between Jason and Bruce but not far off. Mostly making sure Jason didn't shoot Bruce. Not at the moment, at least. "I have to take you in, Jason."
no subject
"Nerve isn't one of the things I have to work on, Jason."
no subject
"I didn't try to kill the whatever it was, so you can tell you Captain or whatever to shove it up his ass. I ain't being arrested for something I didn't fucking do." He glared at Dick for a second before glancing back at Bruce, narrowing his eyes.
"As the we all know how much the universe hates me, why don't we see if it gives me some good news. What's the last thing you remember Dad?
no subject
He looked between the other two, not at all certain how to handle that one.
no subject
"That's not important right now," he replies evasively, "What is important is getting you to stand down before they kill you."
And, more than likely, you kill most of them in the process.
no subject
"So you bring me in, and I get charged with shooting you. That's it. If he brings up this, whatever it was, I walk. Well I walk and break someones jaw in the process."
no subject
It's not really working, but he's trying, damn it.
"He has a point, though. Kennedy doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would hesitate to kill someone he considers a threat to the crew." Dick didn't move closer, but he did open up his stance a bit. "And there's too much going on to get caught up in our own issues. There's too much at stake. Too many lives in the balance.
"You don't have to like us, Jason. Hell, you barely even have to tolerate us." Which might hurt, but it was better than the alternative. "But please. Stand down and come in with me."

"Fine. Can you promise me a cell next to Timmy?" He couldn't help the smirk even as he came forward, his hands up. They could check him if he wanted, they wouldn't find his knife or guns. Sadly for him, but he didn't want to ruin any chances he had. It could very well be his last.

Not too quick, but enough to know that Jason's not packing. Which makes him relax. Marginally.

Hey at least he'd went in knowing they were going to loose. Plus he only wanted to deal with Dick, and he did.

How Bruce knows such a thing... well, Dick can probably guess. At least he's not humming Folsom Prison Blues.

"Of course, if you ever want to see Kennedy's eyes bug out, tell him what age you where when you started as Robin." Dick's still not mentioned his age, but it's almost funny watching his reaction to Tim.

no subject
"Yeah I'll be sure to tell him the age I died at and then crawled out of my own grave. Bet that'll make his head spin."
no subject
This is just going to go so well. Maybe he should just go beat his head against the wall now and beat the rush.
no subject
"Take your time, Dick," he calls irately, "I'm sure we're both happy to listen to this for another hour or two."

At the question, though, he shook his head. "After me and after the current Crisis is about all I have it narrowed down to." The not shaving and generally being unkempt, Dick was putting down to having been out of the pods for a while before they'd finally met. "I haven't asked." He wasn't sure he wanted to know.
no subject
Mental note-- when he gets back, he's going to make everyone sit down with Rip Hunter and let him explain why that's a really, really bad idea.
no subject
"Well as I'm completely out of ideas on how to stall, shall we go? Or does Dickie need to frisk me once more?" And yes the smirk is a bit more evil than it probably should be. Seeing as he really isn't hiding anything. But he loved to push Dick's buttons.
no subject
He rolls his eyes though, following Jason and keeping an eye on him. "I don't need to frisk you again. Not even if you ask nicely." Hey, two could play at that game.

"You know, I bet this is going to be much better than sitting in this dump. I'll even have company." His smirk widens a bit more.
no subject
"Well, it'll be different, at least. And at least the waiting is over." Because Jason had to know that they'd be coming to find him eventually. "Though I can't promise it'll be too exciting. But I'll probably drop in and say hi when I'm in the building." Which was probably far more often than he had any right to be, especially with Tim in the cells.
Really, this was how it should have gone when Jason came back. How it might have if the world hadn't gone to hell and back before Dick could track Jason down and talk. Maybe it wouldn't have, even if things had been settled, but there should have been a chance.

"If only Alfred could see us now."
