What do you mean, no meat? [Open]

Sokka poked distastefully at the mush in the edible plate that sat in front of him. This sucked. A lot. He'd been willing to deal with it for a few days but now this was just ridiculous. There was literally nothing to eat here besides the mush. And Sokka of the Water Tribe did not eat mush. He ate meat. Lots of it. This diet just would not do. He sulkily lifted a bit of the 'food' (it was only food by the loosest of his definitions) to his mouth and began chewing, complaining around the stuff.

"This sucks."

"I hear you there, kid," says the woman that sits down at his table. "I'd kill for a real steak. The Sensoriums do up stuff that seems like real food, by the way, but I don't like not knowing what exactly it is I'm eating--not that I know what this is, but it seems harmless."

Bella's lying on the floor under the end of the table a bit further from Sokka, a leg poking out here and tail poking out there. There are scraping, crunching noises coming from where she's chewing on her emptied tray.

She recognizes the "sucks" word. Her old homid packmates had been fond of it.

"It does," she agrees heartily from her place below the table.

Bella seems a little perplexed by his confusion.

"I am wolf," she answers simply. "Though "Garou" is more right," she adds after a second. "You have wolves where you hail from?"

"I know what you mean," says Cybil. "You wonder just a little too much what it's actually made of. I pretty much felt the same way about hot dogs for years, and then when I found out how they're made, I was glad I hadn't taken a liking to them."

"Tubes of compacted meat, typically cooked on a grill, made from all the parts of the cow and pig you really don't want to be eating. They call that stuff 'meat slurry.' Typically, I'm not fond of anything that's made of anything that has 'slurry' in the name."
